Is anyone from the Reno area heading to Sonoma for the Ferrari challenge?

We are heading over Friday morning, not sure what time but would try to meet anyone along the route for the drive.

I will be going as usual. I leave Reno at 5am and arrive trackside at ~8:30am. Hope you're doing well, Ed.

Glad you will make it, we will see you there, if not before.

Going over the hill this Friday to pick up the car from it's belt service so we will be ready for the track.

    Gotta talk about some photos.

    Not obvious to me:

The VIP registration sounds like the catered goodies for those entering the event. By signing up for this VIP portion, is this what signs you up for the track? It sounds like a group, "Hooked On Driving" is organizing the driving part.

For other track events I'm used to seeing:
    Track Event (one day) - xx/xx/xx $xx
    Track Event (two days) - xx/xx/xx $yy

    Food etc $zz

    T-Shirt etc $ab

    Many thanks!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong or miss something.

It has been my experience that if you buy the VIP hospitality ($250.00/day or $400.00/3 days) food, drinks, parking, pit access and track sessions are all included.

As a matter of fact I think you need to have a VIP pass to get on the track.

You also need to have your car inspected and attend a drivers meeting for the track sessions.

There is a schedule and link in the FOG thread or you can call Ferrari of San Francisco for more info.

The VIP pass gets you through the gate at the track and into the VIP tent for food and beverage. You can buy admission only at the gate for a nominal fee and forgo the VIP treatment and still park your Ferrari in the corral and still drive on the track and still have access to grandstands, pit, garage paddock, etc. But if you want to get on the track, you must attend the drivers meeting, pass a rigorous tech inspection, and have an SA 2005 or later helmet. Sport session is driver only, no passengers. Touring session allows passengers who must sign a waiver and wear a helmet. They check wristbands entering the track and entering the VIP tent (different wristbands for each).

So you can just pay the nominal fee and use the track if you attend the drivers meeting & get car tech'd?
