Is anybody from here headed up to the Ferrari Challenge series at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. July 7-9 ? Check out their site: www.ferrarichallenge.com It has alll of the Info. about the Races. the Track, Accomodation info. Etc.... But, I'll bet that is filling up fast, if not already. There is also some other Info. at the www.RossoOnline.com site I would like to go. And if anyone else is planning on it, maybe we can do a convoy? Does anybody here know how far/long a drive it is from here?
I'll be there, although probably only one day, most likely Sunday. I went last year and I want to say it was about a 2.5 hour drive (coming from Hoffman/Schaumburg/Barrington area), straight shot up 94.
O.K. Hey, thanks alot for that! In that case, yeah, we'll probably just make a "One Dayer" out of it, too. We'll see though. We are gioing to Indy that weekend before for the F1 Race.
I'm going for Friday. We'll be staying in Sheboygan, where there are many motels. Drive is about 3 hours from the city.
They pissed me off with their scheduling! The challenge the week before the BRIC! Oh well, I'd never miss the bric! The Challenge was cool, but no real racing. Its a vintage tour. Bill, you still going? I'm getting excited....its getting close!
I'm not sure what you mean by no real racing, there is. During the weekend is both the Ferrari Challenge and Vintage Challenge. The VC has all of the vintage cars, however, the Ferrari Challenge features both 360 and 430 Challenge cars in an actual race. I know that a few FXXs made an appearance at Homestead, but I'm not sure if we're going to be that lucky or not. Although, there is one located in St. Louis, and one located in TN, so maybe?
Kip, I imagine, that I will be there for both. If all works out well, Ruby should be able to make the Oak St. event, the F-Challenge and the BRIC, WooHa.
Depends what is going on those days. I wish there was a schedule which had what was going on exactly each day. Either way, I'm pretty excited for next Sunday .
If you look at the schedules of previous events you can figure it out: Friday is practice for the various classes, Saturday might see a vintage race and qualifying for Challenge and Sunday is race day. For me it is about seeing the cars, not the race itself, so any day is fine with me.
I agree. Some wonderfull vintage race cars. I think you are right about schedule. I usually go on Sat. whether BRIC or challenge. See lots of action. and at least one race. Head to fish fry in town before returning to Chicago.
Saturday and Sunday afternoons, are usually races. Friday and the mornings are usually practice sessions qualifications and warm-ups.
Thanks for the info. I like watching both of the races, so I will most likely attend Sunday. It seemed fairly busy on that day, so perhaps that may also be the best time to spot the most cars.
I'm in. I've been to the races before and it's a good time. I'd be intrested in driving up with another car so I'll check my schedule and let everyone know what day I plan to attend.
Well, it looks like I'll be heading up to Road America on Saturday and I'm looking to leave on Sunday. Anyway, if anyone wants to run up there let me know. I'd also like to get that motel info if you get a chance Andreas.
If I do go, I would go up later on Saturday, (July 8th.) Afternoon, after I leave Haley & Chelle's Car Show for the Vets. Hey, I will already be that far North. So, it would work out great. Then, take a leisurely drive up there. Stay overnight. Then be all rested and fresh for the Sunday activities.
Anyone going? I'm going up Sat. just for the day. If anyone wants to ride up together we could meet at the Lake Forest oasis on I94.
