Ferrari Challenge Race at VIR

If somebody needs a driver,lol. Still holding 2 trackrecords at VIR.

I'm going up on Monday.

 

What time are the races?

 

22 cars (all Challenge or former Challenge) signed up now with a few more stragglers coming. I predict Paul, Will and Jerome running up front.

Qualifying is 12:00-12:30 and the race is 5:00-5:30 PM on Monday, IIRC. Tuesday's race will be at 12:00-12:30 and will be gridded by the Monday race results.

I'll be there Monday.

 

Thanks for the info! I would love to make it tomorrow, but I'm a long shot. Where are people meeting up, on the hill looking over 3,4 and 5?

 

PK -- Robyn and Dave are hopefully coming over from Semora. Hopefully I'll get a peek into their shop too.

We were up there for a good chunk of the day. We saw a lot of Ferrari action, including the appearance of a very hot/tired looking Rob Lay. After sweating our guts out at Turn 5, we went over to visit the Camp Motorsport kids and watched them go-kart, dirt-car, and assorted other stuff. Not sure if it'll be right for Luca in a few years, but I'm crossing my fingers.

We then visited my cousin up in the raceplex at Sasco (http://www.sascosports.com/). They are within shouting distance of Peter's shop. I think it was the highlight of Luca's weekend actually. PK, you'll have to name these cars... I couldn't remember them all.

But at some point, a man's just got to take a day off - to catch up on the never ending 'honey-do' list! Unfortunately, the only time I could do this was these three days.

Daniel,

I'm taking Asa this weekend to the father/child experience (he's too young to go to a full week by himself). I'll let you know what he thinks.

Huge shout out to Ronnie Rumple and Hank Carpenter for supplying the stunning yellow California for the pace car for today's races!

 

Jerome was well taken care of, Chuck! On the pole for Race 1 by over TWO seconds with the fastest lap of the weekend. <grin> Also, Rob L and John H got some goodness, too.

 

I have some vids I shot from station 10 today. I'll try to get those posted soon.
