What would be bet tyre for the road and maybe the occasional trackday or 2 per year?

I read that the Michelin Pilot Super Sport is a great contender as is the Bridgestone Potenza RE 11.

What would be recommended between these two?

Also, what are the max width possible on the stock Challenge Stradale wheels?

    Thanks

I'd recommend the MPSS if you sometimes drive in the wet as they are superior to the RE11s for mixed use. If you use for dry weather only the RE11s are probably superior.

Search for user F430GT and review his posts for detailed recommendations for CS including tyre sizes.

    Best of luck.

Yes I've read the posts and it seems that the RE 11 has the edge in dryer conditions.

    Id like to know if:

    245/35/19 Front
    305/30/19 Rear

will fit the Stock Challenge Stradale wheels and if they will cause any problems with ABS unit etc.

If you're presently on 7.5" and 10.0" rims which, I believe, were the standard then the generally accepted maximum width would be 235 and 285.

As I understand it the standard tyre combo would be 225/35/19 and 285/35/19 - Correct?

If so your rear diameter is supposed to be 6.6% larger than your front.

I calculate the combo you suggest above to be 1.8% larger rear than front.

The generally accepted rule of thumb is that you can stray to a maximum of 5% differential over stock. As such, I would have some concerns about your proposal and rather than waste money I'd like to try and find someone who had used those sizes and had real-world feedback.

    245/35 & 285/35 is + 4.30%
    245/35 & 295/35 is + 5.40%
    235/35 & 295/35 is + 6.50%

    Indeed,

Im more concerned with the 245 in front fitting and not causing any rubbing etc. I'd probably go for the 295 in the rear to to deviate much from stock.

Pardon my ignorance but the 360CS is renowned for its handling which the factory must have spent some time developing - what do you think you'll gain by changing the tire sizes ?

Widening the the front tires (along with good alignment) will help reduce under-steer (which I felt the car had a lot of when tracking). Widening the rears from 285 to 295, I doubt any change will be noticed, will help keep geometry intact since widening front tires..

And also, those 225s look quity puny when compared to the rears and have a really small amount of sidewall. I have already cracked one of the front wheels on a pot hole. Widening to 245 will give slightly more side wall/cusion

I just need to know if anyone has tried 245/35/19 tryes on Stock 7.5" Challenge Stradale front wheels.

    Thanks.
