By "clocked" do you mean involved in an accident, or "timed" on a track?

If the 430 is at a dealer, they should be able to "pull" any codes that may be showing up, e.g. problems with emissions equipment or some other engine condition, etc.

Oh, I see... You're probably right.

How the hell would you even begin to do that on a 430?

Unless there's specific reason for concern, I'd worry about other things!

Why do you think its been clocked?

I doubt there is a way from the ECU, sourcing its full history and working out if things add up is maybe the best way - but if you have doubts walk away, and find another one.

You can see the mileage of the car from the gearbox e.c.u using sd3, but it's only mileage covered since the e.c.u was new, and seeing as this unit can be replaced it's not really a reliable source. I can't see anyone forking out the cash to do this to shave a few miles off, however!

Okay whyyyyyyyyy, would any one pull that stunt on a 430? The cars are too new to have any sort of milage on them?

Is it just me, or does this sound a bit fishy??????

I think RifleDriver or FerrariFixer should be able to answer these odometer questions.

It's a suspicious question. The reality is that used 430's are selling for more than sticker. Buyers aren't asking about mileage, so the motivation to clock one would seemingly be missing even in people of that ilk.

They have, though it's more of a computer memory question than so much an "odometer" issue. Various legal jurisdictions *require* that odometers be capable of being reset, so there are OEM computer tools that will reset the visible mileage on Ferrari odometers.

Good way to get busted by AutoCheck or CarFax if the reset goes to a mileage less than previously reported at a title or emissions or traffic violation incident...and a smeared 430 Title would be one of the few things that would knock the wind out of its value.

But hey, some classes of jokers are going to do dumb things (and they always think that they won't get caught).
