Heads up reminder that the "Dyno Day" will be held on Saturday August 3rd in Kirkland. All of the details are in the club's newsletter. The price for club members is just $75 to dyno a car. If you're not a member, you should consider joining! Join the FCA now!
OK, guys -sounds good. Just try to let me know at least a few days before the event, if you will be bringing a car. Thanks! Gary
If my 308 is all repaired by then, I'll probably re-join the FCA and bring it. I've been meaning to dyno the motor since it was rebuilt!!!
Eric, I hope you can make it. The shop has 308 test data available from other cars over the years, so you will be able to compare those figures to your car's results. Gary
This is a very fun event and easy to do - plus you will receive a graphical power output. The owner, Alex, controls everything for the utmost in safety for all the cars and spectators. An order is determined and each car is given a time to run. Alex instructs the driver on how to enter and proceed to make the run. Each car is secured with double safety so there is never a problem. OK. I guess I could do it myself and not wait for my husband! When he will be back he will have quite a surprise, some funny videos of me doing 116mph at Bremerton,2 trophies from Carrillion and dyno datas! Need renew my FCA membership and could not tonigh. Urgh!
Would be interested in bringing my Boxer- finally got ignition and CIS more or less sorted out-I posted the distributor rebuild on the boxer thread- https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/boxers-tr-m/415690-boxer-misfire-distributor-rebuild.html need info on times and location
I have sent you an email about the details. Hope you can make it. Gary PS: 458steph - I sent you a PM with the info too
Would love to make it to this event, but will be out of town. Really curious to know how many horses a 355 actually puts out. Met Stephanie at the Italian Concours yesterday - I think she will enjoy Dyno Day. Her 458 is not just for show, and I mean that in a positive sense.
Will probably come Saturday unless something happens that I cannot get up. Will renew my membership Tuesday. Thanks for all the infos. Having the car all to myself is infecting me with the bug pretty badly. Starting to want/need to learn the more specific and technical parts of engine performances and the how/why etc! I feel I need to to give due respect to my car and not to have to say again "I don't know" to a guy and see in his eye the glimmer of "dang it female, shame that you don't care and YOU get to have this car, probably like sissy".
That works. If she is not comfortable running the car on the dyno rollers, Alex the shop owner can test it for her.
Do it Stephanie!! I wish I could be there but I am going to be away this weekend. Have fun! Alex's dyno is the only spot that has seen my car run at redline in 5th gear (192 mph). It is a wonderful experience.
We are getting a very interesting mix of cars signed up. Even if you are not testing a car, please feel free to come WATCH & HEAR the dyno runs. The PUBLIC IS WELCOME to view the event. Start time is 10AM this Saturday, August 3rd.
