If anything, check w/ the guys at Intrepid Motors in Reno. They are THE Ferrari shop in the area. I used to live up there and they know the happenings (if any) in the Reno/Tahoe area.
If you want to see some AMAZING classic F cars, they have a few million $ cars like old Testarossas, etc. that they store and maintain for some of the vintage racing guys.
If you are a true Ferrari fan, you will see some rarities in the shop. It will give you a true respect for the marque.

Funny that you're from Walnut Creek and that's where I go to have my car serviced. I've gone to Intrepid several times with technical questions and have been told they're too busy working on race cars to be bothered with "street" cars.

You MAY also want to check w/ Sport Haus on EVENTS ONLY. I have heard nothing positive about their business ethics, but they might know about an event or two.
They USED to be THE Porsche shop when they were at their old location, but I think it was sold...I haven't lived up there (Incline Village) for a while so maybe things are different.
Also, check **********.net, they have a schedule of events planned in Reno from time to time.

I never did find out if you painted your garage door rails or did you have them powder coated? I'm going to replace my garage doors with insulated steel doors and thought the red rails would be a nice touch.

    GB,

The only kind of Ferrrari Club in Reno is the kind where you show up a a friend's garage on a Saturday and get put to work on a project.

Tomorrow, August 7th is V.I.P. day at the Lake Tahoe Concours for wooden boats. More info at; http://www.tahoeyc.com/concours.php. The Ferrari Club of America is having a ride/drive to the councours with Ferrari parking just across from the marina. Last year about 20 Ferrari's showed for the event. The event is $100 a head but it doesn't cost anything to oogle the cars.

AWESOME!!! I'll be sure to show up. Do you know what time the event starts? My cousin owns a Ferrari and I will tell him about this event. If he decides to bring his Ferrari, does he have to go on the drive? Does it cost money for him/passenger to get into the parking? Sorry for all the questions.

    Thanks,
    -G.B.

We went last year. Not planning on going this year to the boat show. Good show, but I'm expecting it to be much of the same thing as last year.

Today's VIP day is from noon to 4 P.M. I plan on arriving about 11 A.M. to look at the cars first. About a third of the cars are local and are not part of the ride/drive. -Ed

FCA & FOC both have a hillclimb at the Virginia City

There is also a race track in Reno which probably has some events

Then there are events at Thunderhill which is only a few hours away

    Randy,

Last year our group made up almost 1/2 of the Ferrari's at the boat show. I didn't get the group together knowing it would be the same thing as last year.

I hope you have your entry in for the Hillclimbs! The entry deadline is approaching. I'll be running my F430 again.

    Mike

That's all I saw also. The 308 in front of the line was mine. Last year there were about twenty cars. I still had a great time. The food and conversation and the wooden boats, especially "Stradavarius", was great fun. I wish there were more cars. The reason I dropped out of FCA is that there are so few events in the area. To William H: As far as I know the only Virginia City Hillclimb is the FCA event in September. FOC doesn't hold an event anymore, I believe, due to insurance reasons. The race track near Reno really doesn't have squat. Thunderhill?
