I would like opinions on Ferrari Clubs, good or bad. I have checked online at "ferrariownersclub.org" and "ferrariclubofamerica.org", but I have not been impressed by the web sites for either. it seems there is a dearth of events or happenings in either one. Ferrari Club Of America does at least talk about Monterrey in 2004, but aside from that I find little activity.

Are there any local clubs of substance?

    Thanks

Welcome, Larry! Yes, the FCA is the club to join in this area. Rob Lay (Mr. Fchat) is the local area FCA Prez. Browse back through this very forum to see the FCA-sponsored events in our area. (Do a search on "FCA" in the Texas forum.)

The annual FCA meet is definitely a big deal... and the one in Monterrey is particularly big. Several of us from DFW will be going. But long before that, there are plenty of local events (karting, dinners, rallies, etc.).

Thanks for your help. I will follow up on your advice.

I would really like to go to Monterrey next August. We were there in 2002, where I got the "bug" so bad I bought a 2000 360 when we got back and soon bought an "03" 360. Don't have the 2000 now, but replaced it with a 2003 S55 AMG. Just didn't need two 360's even though it made for interesting conversation.

The URL for the local FCA chapter is http://www.fcadfw.com/

There's been quite a few local events this year, and we're working on the 2004 calendar now.

There's an Exotic Car Night event this weekend at Carson's Palace - see http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2393 for more information. Pictures from previous ECN events can be found at

Highlights from 2003 included the ECNs listed above, monthly informal get-togethers (usually at TBC Indoor Karting, SpeedZone or similar places), the Poker Run ( http://www.fcadfw.com/events/2003%20Poker%20Run.htm ), Formula 1 watching parties, and more. See http://www.fcadfw.com/past_events.htm for a more-or-less complete list of events.

If you have question feel free to contact either Rob Lay or me, Tillman Strahan.

    Welcome Larry,

The 2004 Calendar will be out soon, but will basically have the following events...

    - Monthly outing, usually at TBC Go karting second Monday of each month.
    - Exotic Car Nights every 6 months, there's one this weekend as Tillman mentioned.
    - Fine Dining Nights every 6 months.
    - 2nd Annual Poker Run
    - 1st Annual Ferrari of Dallas concours
    - Bob Norwood Dyno day
    - Live F1 watching parties

...and a few other events in the works.

Please submit the email form located at www.fcadfw.com so I can put you on the monthly events list.

We're going to alternate with the Fine Dining nights, basically we do the same things each event, but ECN will always be at Carsons and FD will move around.

I just can't handle any more events by myself. If others step up to organize an event, then great.
