Hi Folks, Just a reminder that only a few rooms are remaining at the Sun Mountain Lodge for our upcoming North Cascades trip with the Cobra Club. Currently 20 rooms are booked - this is going to be a big trip! The last few rooms we have reserved will be released on Aug 4 so if you want to go and haven't booked yet do it today. We've got a special cowboy dinner planned for Friday night and drive to Grand Coulee on some of the awesome backroads on Saturday. There is a big classic car/hot rod rally in Winthrop that weekend and the cars will be lining the streets Saturday night. We'll be throwing our beautiful rides into the mix so it should be quite a spectacle. For reservations, call Sun Mountain Lodge at (509) 996-2211 and refer to the Cobra/Ferrari Club Trip. But do it now!!
This is going to be an awesome trip.......Sun Mountain Lodge is gorgeous.........unfortunately I'll be in California that weekend for CDE.
Kuzi, I understand the CDE deal, but your Stable should not be left unattended or neglected. They need their legs stretched "daily", the same as you need your daily workout!! Hint Hint . And I've got nothing planned for that entire weekend? (I Wish). I know, I know "Want in one hand & ?? Seriously though, it would be great to know the Trip Itinerary, could take my Son and maybe my esposa (sp), at least to Winthrop. Chuck
Hi Chuck, Just stay tuned to this thread and you should get the nitty. I don't think anyone would mind a PM with additional questions either. I'm going to miss this one too
Hi Folks, I'll be posting more info on the route and meeting time/location to this thread. I'm going to pre-drive the route and will not post the details until after I've done that. So keep an eye out for when this thread pops back up to the top. Cheers, Will
Hi Folks, I just returned today from pre-driving the entire route - up route 9, a special shortcut on a little used twisty road to highway 20 and a stop at the beautiful Sun Mountain Lodge. On Saturday we'll drive down to Grand Coulee Dam - the roads are great fun - and stop for lunch. We'll take an entirely different route back to SML from Coulee that offers some very different scenery. It's going to be a great weekend! We have 15 Ferraris and 10 Cobras signed up. Complete info on meeting times and locations is included in the Sept. issue of the newsletter which everyone should have by now. As this is an open forum and the trip is an official club event I'm not going to post that info here. If you are signed up for the trip and somehow didn't get the newsletter with the info please email me privately (don't use the ferrarichat private messages) at [email protected]. It's going to be great fun!! - Will
This "is" a fun trip. Usually one of the best of the year (although the Olympic trip was awesome as well). I hate missing it! I think I'd rather do this than be in Fresno............where I'll be..........but I'll be daydreaming about the run down the North Cascades! Its an incredbile experience.........the wailing of Ferrari engines reverberating off of thousand foot peaks........
Dont worry Kuzi...Ill be sure to take plenty of video and let you know just how AWESOME it was!!! Maybe I'll even talk with Albert about putting it onto a DVD so you can see it....just maybe we'll have a gathering so you can come watch it! Yeah, that's it!!!! Not to rub it in or anything like that Not that you would do anything like that!!!! Enjoy Fresno!!!! At least the "scenery" may be better than ours!
I'm not sure if Albert has the energy or time to put into another one of those productions! I think he said one a year was enough. Have fun on the trip!
Have you guys seen the weather report for Winthrop? This could be a fun trip! Anyone know where to get snow chains for a 308?
Well... the weather report is not too promising, at least for tomorrow. It will likely be a pretty wet drive. The forecast for Winthrop on Saturday is a bit better: "few showers" with a high of 65. My advice is to break out the Rain-X. Sunday should be mostly dry. I feel bad for the Cobra guys as many don't have any top at all. I expect some of them will make the trip in their daily drivers. C'est la vie. But it's going to be a great trip no matter what the weather! - Will
Could someone post the travel itinerary for this trip. I'm going to try and make the trip to Winthorp (word play), And would like to know where the clubs will display their Cars. I understand that a Grand Coulee Dam drive is/was planned, so I wouldn't want to miss the Group. On the other hand, I could hang out at Winthorp Brew Pub, and/or 3 Fingers Jack ( and continue alternating ), until everyone shows up. If posting the itinerary is a problem, could someone PM me? Grazie Chuck P.S. As you all know, the forecast doesn't call for many sun-breaks. http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/forecast/default.aspx?zone=WA042
Chuck, Official FCA event itinerary should never be posted on a public forum. PM or email are the preferred methods. If you're a Northwest Region FCA member, you could request to be on the club "chat" email list for activity details.
Willis, I signed up with FCA in June. I've received all my FCA stuff. According to Gary, it takes a month+ for the respective area chapter to get confirmation from FCA. I've since received two news bulletins, the most recent dated Sept. 4. So it's been two months+. I remembered from a previous Thread that posting "that" trip itinerary was not a good idea (spirited driving, and all). But since this involves another club, I didn't know the same rule(s) applied. That's why I asked: "If posting the itinerary is a problem, could someone PM me?" I will, from here on, consider it "absolutely no posting itinerary's" Thanks Willis, Chuck
Chuck, My reply was mainly a public reminder to anyone reading this forum who might disclose details of the trip without official approval. It took me quite a while to get my local region stuff also. But it didn't prevent me from attending events. You need to PM Willdief on this site to get the event details. Will is the Activities Director of NWRFCA.
Oops. Forgot that Will will not answer FerrariChat PM. See post #9 of this thread for his email info.
Hey chuck, I just sent you a PM. Get back to me in email (I don't use the PM here) at erichaw at ferrariclub.com. I think we have a mess up in our data communications here in the PNW...
Oh Man was this a great weekend. I personally had a blast! I'll try to post a couple pics before long. As for stories there are some good ones and a few "other" ones, but I'll leave those for others to tell if they wish! Thanks again Will for puting this together!! John
