Not sure if any of you knew him personally, or at least knew of him, but wow...what a collection. I know a few people that knew him up in NY, and said he was a great guy, and always drove the heck out of his wonderful cars.

Link to the auction announcement - anyone going to Scottsdale this month???

Here's a link with info on him, and video from Cavallino Classic Track Day at Palm Beach International Raceway with an interview with Benny.

Mr. "C" was a client of mine and a great friend who knew how to enjoy life. I was fortunate to share the overseeing of his racing stable with Kevin Chuk and Sal Barone. They had the cars for the summer months up north and I had them for the winter months in Florida.
He became a regular client at Michellotto in Padova and had the latest and greatest of everything to come from the Ferrari tuner.
Interestingly his street F40 was sent there to be converted to LM specs and when it returned there was an enormous collection of the street car parts. I purchased many of them for the reserection of what is now known as the "Linder F40" which was mine before I sold it to Roland.
Benny was a great guy and we had a ball with him both at and away from the track. He is truly missed.

    Ted's looking a little skeptical there. ;)

Benny was a marvelous man who was filled with enthusiasm for the marque. A lot of folks will miss him, and his cars on track.

It's been mentioned in one of the numerous other threads about the upcoming auction that it ran on Dealer Tags while in the US/Florida......there's a pic of the tag along with the posted explanation...

The Maserati MC12 was actually in the US legally as it falls under the "show and display" law as can be seen in this list. http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import/sdlist040109.pdf
It was the Pagani that he ran dealer tags on as that is not eligible for "show and display".

Show and display only satisfies the DOT you still need to make the EPA happy. That means OBD2, cold start shed test, etc...No easy task

I remember seeing #19 when Remo Ferri had that F40. If I remember correctly he said that car and #20 both got the pushrod suspension. Any more pics of #19 you could share? Thanks

I have several photo of the car, they are in print format and I need to scan them for posting. You are correct two cars did get pushrod suspension but I thought they were #18 & 19?

You may be correct; that was some time ago but my impression was that it was just for the last two cars that received the suspension upgrade so #18 and #19. A number of people tried to order that LM version at the time and were refused. Remo Ferri took delivery of the #19 at Maranello and came back with it on the plane from Italy. Would enjoy seeing old #19 again if you get a chance to scan the images.
