If anyone knows of a well maintained 458 GT3 for sale, I am patiently looking for a nice car to use for private trackdays.

Tom: my understanding is that the GTE requires more support to run given its complexity and sophistication. What is your take on running a 458 GT3 vs GTE?

I've raced and owned both. I still own a 458 GTE. Its a great car with a glorious sound, I drive it a few times a year just for fun.
The 458 GT3 is the best value for money trackday Ferrari, better than any Challenge. The 458 GTE works best with Michelin Confidential Tires which has been developed for this car. You dont have ABS in the GTE and the Car does not work well with Pirellis. The GT3 works much better with the Pirellis and you have ABS which is especially helpfull when the track is wet. Running costs for the GTE are almost double compared to the GT3.

GTE's holding their values, if you find one with a successfull Le Mans Career even more but most of those examples are already in collectors hand. GT3's are hard to get but there are still a few around. For a pure trackday purpuse the GT3 would be my choice as values will not go down in the future.
