I'm glad to be part of the Concorso committee again. My friend Tom, the former owner of Hot Tomato's in Hartford, who started the Concorso over 13 years ago would be proud that we are back on track! The Concorso was started to help the CT Children's Medical Center, and once again all the money raised will go to the CCMC. I've heard other people say it should go to "Make a wish". Well "Make a wish" is national, CCMC is right here in our backyard!!! That being said we are so happy to give CCMC more this year!!!
The 2013 Concorso will have the most Ferrari's and other Italian makes we've ever assembled at one spot. I've been a Ferrari owner/enthusiast for over 13 years now, I've entered my car in about 50 Ferrari shows from Boston to New Jersey and I'm so proud to say this will be the best car show period. So if you havent registered please do so now and tell all your friends!! Ferrari, Fiat, Alfa, Lancia, Maserati etc

I'm glad to see it back with the FCA and I'm sure that Charlie will do a great job. Sorry to see that it is no longer on Father's Day, though.

Having the Concorso on Father's Day always gave me an easy free pass for the day to go to Zumbach's for Caffeine and Carburetors first thing in the morning, then a local car show here in town for an hour later in the morning and then up to Hartford for the Concorso, making the day a car show tri-fecta for me!

That's great to see you involved in the show Mike! I'm sure it will be an even bigger turnout this year. Make A Wish was a great charity to work with and a great charity overall. Some argue that the money should only be given to CCMC because the show is in the Hartford area and that is where CCMC is located. However, the show is put on by the FCA New England Region, so charitable recipients could be from anywhere and Make A Wish is in CT. The show is a lot of fun, but don't let yourself be influenced by other committee member's ego or political agenda. Sad to hear Make A Wish was dropped but happy the show is progressing nicely.

    More stuff soon :)

Mike regardless of the charity thing, you'd be proud how the committee is working.

    Thanks

John, it was tough decision we made but by moving the date and the location it proved that we were not getting the cars and the spectators on Father's Day as we could.
It was tough because of family commitments on that day blah blah blah

Sometimes things have to evolve. When Mike join for 2yrs and new committee members came on board, it was a matter of thinking outside the box and to become innovative.

There are hundreds if not thousands of charities in the CT area, but the show was concieved to benefit the kids of CCMC period. That goes back 13 years ago, so there has never been any influence in any direction to change the origins of the proceeds. There are plenty of other car shows that support make a wish and other worth while charities and that's great but again the basis of the show from when Tom Altman started this was to benefit CCMC and doing the parade with the kids.

They are both very good and worthwhile charities. We can discuss it all day long and have our own views but what it boils down to is that the show goes on and a great charity is supported and that is what's happening! I'm sure it will be a great event as the committee has some great people involved.
