Perez is a good driver but more importantly is back by huge $$$.

He's had some good drives but is still behind Kobayashi in the WDC. For a Ferrari drive he would need to prove himself beyond what we've seen so far.

Again. They can find the fastest driver. But what's the point? They need a fast car for that.

Before his accident I think Kubica would have been a great addition to the team, but like Massa I think he will struggle to get back to his best, let alone F1.

I like the idea of taking a young & upcoming driver as the no.2, but don't understand why they don't look to their own driving academy. McLaren did & found Lewis, so what's the point of having an academy if you aren't going to promote the good drivers to the sports pinnacle?

I don't know how good the so called academy is today, compared to Lewis's time. I mean, there wasn't testing ban at that time.

Yea, I'd love to see Kubica return to the sport and put in a strong performance - regardless of who he drives for. I think if he does make it back, he'll take a season of getting settled again before he's up to speed - I wonder though if he'll ever be able to recapture his old speed...... hope so.

Yea, I would love to see the testing ban overturned.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Perez has some amazing speed and huevos at times yet of the two I would rather see Kobi in the Ferrari.

    That would be awesome!!!

I'm not sure a Sauber driver would be a good choice for Ferrari. With Massa, they got him to slow down at a spot on the track where Alonso could pass him. A Sauber driver would just slow down wherever they damn well pleased.

An attempt at humor related, I guess, to Michaels little rear-ending episode last week - "He (Perez) lifted a little early".....

    Cheers,

Peter Sauber lost all humor when that happened in Singapore: He hasn't forgotten Silverstone where MS hit Kobayashi

    http://www.blick.ch/sport/formel1/braucht-opa-schumi-eine-brille-182767

Lots of fodder in this one, but I won't bother to translate.

    This is google's translation....

Clean-up in the camp comes the anger. Schumacher at Silverstone has been the other pilots, Kobayashi, attacked and shot out of the race. "Schumi need glasses," you heard yesterday from some journalists in the press room of Singapore.

"With this statement I can live well," grumbled later to clean GLANCE. It was the fifth crash of Schumi 2011, when he misjudged the enemy and shot down. And went back to GP legend unpunished - he was only reprimanded.

Men also need the FIA glasses? Among yesterday's driver Heinz-Harald Frentzen consultant. Had the fourth Judge afraid to punish his nemesis Michael Schumacher? Then it would have been called, it was revenge for the relaxation of friend Corinna, who later married Michael Schumacher.

"For me there had been a heavy fine. But Schumacher can do "what he wants, rants, the tough-Sauber CEO Monisha Kaltenborn to VIEW.

"This is certainly not in the name of justice," is stirring itself to clean, "because Hamilton has received for his hot against attack from behind Massa now a drive-through penalty."

Looks like the sauber CEO Kaltenborn is as much of a clown as you are.

    I wish you hadn't done that! ;)

It's just another bashing Michael post that, fortunately, most of us (sorry Florian!) were unable to read..... I guess trolling is acceptable if done in a "minority" language...... ;)

Yep Carlos Slim's money will do Ferrari well.

Although I'm a bit surprised that Carlos just didn't buy Ferrari outright with all his wealth that way he can have who ever he wants to drive for him.

    Hey,

Anyone know if/when Ferrari last employed a pay driver?

I'm sure they did back in the day when they had "money troubles", but in the modern era? Seems to me they'd rather pay the big $ to hire the best - A few million here and there is chump change to 'em.

    Cheers,
    Ian

    Naaah, that's not trolling. :)

To be fair to Andreas, he only quoted the article, does discuss Schumacher rationally, and acknowledges the 7-time world champion's good qualities despite leaning towards an overall negative assessment of the man. Personally, I think Schumacher is nothing short of a deity, but I don't think Andreas argues his case in a trolling manner, he backs off before taking it too far, and he also discusses a variety of other topics - he's not tenaciously pushing a single agenda.

We are striving for an atmosphere where people can't relentlessly hammer the same darned view down our throats in 90% of their posts, but we also need to try not to stifle dissenting opinions. So let's try to make absolutely certain it's trolling, and not just an unpopular opinion, before we call people out for it. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.
