When I went to Italy, I never saw the Police drive Ferrari's. That would require a bigggggg budget. This car must be for the show only.

I did not take more pics of it but I think that the cop i was talking to said it was a captains or so car. I could see being a cop if I could drive that.

    This is genuine.
In the 60s I think the italian police bought a few ferraris for high speed pursuit (<5). After a few crashes, the experiment was stopped. One of the surviving examples was used as 'compan car' by an italian top cop for a while.
I think one of these police batch cars came on at auction in Europe a few years ago. I have seen and read about the whole thing in French car mags a while back.

This is not a fake. This car was indeed used by the italian police in the sixties and was provided to them by Enzo Ferrari. Abour 4 police officers were specially trained for high speed driving. The decal on the car's fender represents a "pantera volante" or "flying panther" and can be inferred to our interceptor police cars of those days. The car saw limited use (and only in the Rome area) as the maintenance expenses were high but it is still owned by the police.
More recently Lamborghini (to emulate Ferrari) gave the italian "polizia stradale" a Gallardo. This car had some interesting features such as a freezer box to store transplant organs and has seen some usage between the Rome-Naples autostrada and has also been spotted between the Naples-Reggio as well.
However this Gallardo has been extensively covered by many auto magazines.
