Does anyone know where I can get some? Mine have the horse over the shield rather than just the horse. I'd like to get some center caps showing the traditional look.

I called HRE and got metal centers for mine, and Did not put horses on them. I would think Compomotive centers could be found used. That way you could leave them satin, or take the horse out of the regular center caps ( I have done it) and hot glue them to the center cap. Clean the surface with alcohol first.

Awesome! Glad I can help. Make sure you measure your center caps. The decals come in 1.5" and 2.0" diameters.

There are tons of stickers on eBay, some flat, some domed, all shapes and sizes. Silver, black, and standard yellow. Just measure the diameter and get something durable. Very easy to peel off the Compomotive center and replace with something different or better. Or a moose...

Mark, report back on teh quality once you recieve them. I have the same caps you do, and I like the idea of replacing them.

Or, you could always go capless for the GTO look :)

I SERIOUSLY considered doing his 3.9 liter conversion but I didn't have an extra dump truck full of money to flow the heads properly to handle the displacement. It looks like a pretty trick system though!
He has always been super nice on the phone with me. I wish he wouldn't use speaker phone though. I can't understand a lot of what he says.
Maybe down the road I'll upgrade to his EFI sytem.

Long time since this thread had action but wondering where you fellow 17" compomotive wheel owners ended up on your center cap quest?

Compomotive doesn't make the center caps with the correct graphic because of copyrights. The decals are the only way to go. My decals work great.

Thanks Mark. I can't open the old links to your decals in this thread. Where did you get them? Do they just stick right on over the existing center caps decal or is there some process to replacing the old decal 'properly'.

Would you mind posting a few pics here? BTW, love your car, one of the best looking 308s I've seen and a contributor to my desire/search for a black one. It was a nice bonus when the one I found that finally checked all my boxes happen to also have a mint set of Compomotives. I'm still weighing swapping to a classic 17" BBS RS but want to update the center caps with the proper logo as you have before deciding. Thanks again.

PS- also curious to know exactly what method and parts you (and Geno) went with for lowering your car. Can probably find with some searching but if you don't mind a quick note on that or directing me to the best thread I appreciate it.

I can't find the exact ones that I bought back in the day but I did find these:

5X Ferrari Enzo Decals Stickers Set Wheel Center Caps GTO GTB FFX | eBay

If those don't work, and you can't find any that do, you can probably have some made custom for your center caps. I don't think it would be that difficult. Having the correct logo does transform the wheels.

As far as application, I just stuck them on and they have been there ever since. One sticker was coming loose at one corner and I used some E6000 adhesive to glue it down. Permanent fix. The stickers I got are plastic so they are super durable.

If I may, I would like to humbly suggest that you KEEP the compomotives. You can always name your price and sell them on here instantly. EVERYONE drools over those wheels. They are easily the best looking option for your car and they are lighter than stock. Once you sell them, there is little to no chance you will ever get them back. They never come up for sale.

Thanks for the compliments on the car. I looked at your ride and I think you got a steal! You definitely did it the right way. I wish I had done the research that you did. I just jumped in with both feet and got way more than I bargained for. Everything worked out in the end thankfully. Here is a link to a thread that conatins an article about my adventures with my car. More pictures in the article.

I actually didn't lower my car. I have the euro valance spoiler on the front which makes it look lower but I think the ride height is stock. I do have adjustable coil over suspension which allows one to adjust the ride height but with the low chin, stock is PLENTY low.

Thanks for the advice on the wheels and the link to the centercap logo covers. I may get those. Also found these that nay look good with black car but not sure how "correct" they are. Please let be know what you think...

4X Ferrari Wheel Center Sticker Rims Cap Center Decal Logo Aluminum ? 55mm | eBay

Also, I want to ask about the Shield logo on the upper front fenders. I see some cars with it and some without. Would you mind giving me a quick education on it. Was it OEM? Is there a split opinion on its "correctness"? Mine does not have them but I think it looks great with them. Please tell me the story on these or feel free to link me to a thread that tells it all. After understanding the info/story on it if I decide I want them, are they sticker decals or actual emblems? And where would you reccomend purchasing them? And I'm guessing there is probably some very technical measurement spec on the proper placement if them as opposed to just 'eyeballing' it.

Some people put stickers, some put the resin with adhesive backing and some put the metal shields BUT, 308 never came with the shield from the factory only the 288 GTO comes with the shields originally

Those caps you linked are almost exactly what you have already. If you like them, go for it. I like the Ferrari logo that goes on all Ferrari wheels myself.
There are several threads on the shields. There are different types as Mike mentioned. Some of them come curved to fit your fender. I got those. They came with a 3m sticky back but the sticker material was way too thick and the shields stood out above the fender and looked like ****. I had a body shop glue them on to the car for a much sleeker look.
There is a specific measurement as far as placement goes. You will have to do a search for that too. It is a simple method (two inches off the door and two inches down or something like that).
As mike said, they were never stock but they make the car look so much better. I say if you like it, go for it. All the new Ferrari's have them for a reason....They look great. One of the best things you can do is ignore the purists. Do what you want. As everyone says on here "It's your car!".

Thanks again Mark. Sorry, I accidentally copy and pasted the exact center cap logos that my Compomotives already have. Meant to paste this one that is all black with the prancing horse logo...

Ferrari Prancing Horse Black Mag Chrome Wheel Rims Centre Emblem Decals Stickers | eBay

At only $10 I went ahead and bought the traditional yellow ones with logo you linked me to on ebay this morning as well.

This is a random question but does anyone have any clue if these 17" Compomotives speced to my 308 would fit an 87-91 Testarossa (5 lug version of course). Not sure if the 8"/9" width and specific offset that is right for the 308 would also be perfect for the Testarossa. I am shopping for an 87-91 Testarossa as well (White/tan combo) and the rarity of the Compomotives have me wondering if, even I do decide to get a set of BBS RS for the 308, if I should keep the Compos and hold on to them for use on the eventual (hopefully) right Testarossa purchase.

On the side fender emblems there are enough options on ebay to confuse me from stickers to pairs of higher quality reproductions for $200-$500 for the pair, all the way up to OEM badges for $500 each (as in one. $1K to get 2). Yikes. If I am going to do it I would want to do it right (or at least mid range option to right). I'll have to do some thread searching to educate myself on opinions, experiences and pricing.

I do love the way they look though. Kind of a shame they werent standard OEM on the 308 series IMO. I' sure the purists nearly croak every time they the shield emblem on 308s. And I'm ok with that. LOL.I respect them but I will personally never understand how someone thinks the 308 looks better on the stock wheels than a quality, tasteful larger wheel like the 17" Compomotives.

Mark, did you say the 17" Compomotives are lighter than the 16" OEMs?
