Are we planing on a drive after? Breakfast or lunch? It will be cool to see all of us on the road together. Any ideas? suggestions?
I think that's a great suggestion. A couple of us have been talking about the same thing. Seems a shame to have all of these people together (for the first time in many cases) and just go our separate ways afterwards. Especially on Cinco de Mayo. Maybe we can head over to Crystal Cove to grab some breakfast at Pacific Whey or do a canyon cruise. The cafeteria at PAG has a good, but limited breakfast, and the show wraps around 9-9:30, so there would be lots of time for driving before any lunch gathering. If anybody has any suggestions or contacts in the area, start posting ideas.
Just a heads up for you guys if you plan on going to Crystal Cove: The security guards there are a bit hostile towards groups of exotic cars showing up (even if you eat at pacific whey), and if you have any tag-alongs, they will prevent them from coming anywhere near the cars to "prevent it from looking like a show", which you can think of as a good or bad thing!
Holy ****!!! Do you believe 47? A little far to run to Hussong's. How about the El Torito at Dana Point Harbor? Short cruise down the 5. Easy access. No bad gutters. Big parking lot. And, for an early lunch on a Saturday should be OK. Happy Cinco de Mayo! Coronas all around.
Saturday will be an amazing day! Just to let everyone know, Without John Clinard C&C would not be happening. John is there every Saturday before everyone at about 5:30am. John runs all of Ford's west coast public affairs. He is the most authentic enthusiastic "Car Guy" I know. He also probably knows more about Ferraris(and any other marque) more than anyone including Tom Shaughnessy(even Tom will admit to that). When you see him on Saturday, make sure you thank him. And...of course Tom(he does more behind the scenes for the car clubs than you will ever know). John and Tom are a big part of why we love this hobby. Freeman
Haig / Frank --- great idea. fyi, we've been going to CC afterwards the last 4-5 weeks and never a problem with the security folks. they've been pretty friendly actually. That being said, they may flip out a little if 30+ cars showed up - but hey it would be fun! A Dana Point run would be cool - but I'm good with wherever we go.

Wow! a Dana point run maybe down the canyon and through Laguna does sound fun. What a scene to see 30 or 40 Ferraris together let alone the sweet music it would make. Anyone want to head up getting a place? It just gets better and better! Thanks Freeman for reminding us of John's role in our weekly quest for cars, there is probably no place on the planet that is as blessed and lucky as we are in SO.CAL. Along with Dustin and all the guys at VCR, combined we've got it pretty good. It definitely looks like we'll need an overflow reserved parking plan for next Sat. This is like Disneyland for car guys.
The Lamo boys got together at St. Regis Yesterday. About 16 of them from what I heard... San Diego HRE Wheels only had 2 F cars on Saturday and they were asking where we were... So this Saturday let it be known that we are out there. Let us play the music most love to listen too... Humming of 30-40 F-cars will be awsome...
Dennis Ring me today. John Clinard and I have discussed the field layout and transporter situation. John wants someone to walk the lot with him before SAT. We are attempting to be prepared. Ferrari of OC trailer will be placed against the freeway, closest to the PAG building and we will then use the balance of that whole line against the freeway as our first annex area. Need the truck there at 6AM sharp and can not leave til after 9:30. 10 preferred. Safety and space reasons. We are on it!
Tom, I just got off the phone with Bobby. We'll be making a stop at the lot prior to Saturday for a visual dry run. I'll let you know when. For the rest of you. Officially note that the ferrari race trailer will be there with two challenge cars. Also working on a super-secret car (no promises yet!)
