Working on the basis that our cars were actually meant to be driven, be it on the track or on the road, rather than just polished and admired (though I do that also) I am embarking on a trip in my 1973 Daytona down to Florence, Italy.

I will be keeping a blog and if anyone is interested they can follow my progress. I was thinking it might be useful, I can always send for help!

    Dear KP,
My wife and I will be traveling to Italy (specifically, Lucca and Florence) from September 6-15th. I'll due my best to follow your blog...any chance you might be traveling to Lucca?

    Best,

    Hi Mike,
We should be in Florence from the 8th for four days. That will entail a bit of city/museum culture and hopefully a bit of driving. I think I might drive south into the Chianti region but nothing definite as yet. I have not been further south than Maranello before and feel a bit spoilt for choice. Lucca looks lovely but no firm plans as yet.

    Thanks KP,

I will follow the blog carefully and hopefully, I can catch a glimpse the Daytona and its beautiful exhaust note while in Florence! Good luck on your venture and enjoy the ride.

    Best,
    Mike

Yes, bizarre isn't it? It is a new requirement. I am really not 100% sure but I have bought a two pack from Halfords for £5.99. I presume that if the French police stop me I breathalyze myself. Who thinks of these things?
    KP.
