I just heard an interesting news concerning the price of a Ferrari part. Last year, I had my front brake pads replaced on my 360. The price billed by my Ferrari dealer was 536,- chf (~357 €).

My usual mechanic asked the same dealer by phone if he could buy these brake pads and what would be the price...surprise...228,- chf (152 €) !!

Now I agree to pay a bit more for having a "better" service, but asking twice the price for an original part is really exagerated.

Have you experienced the same ?

At least I know that next time I just ask my mechanic to replace the pads. It's a normal convential operation. Will cost me the half of the price Ferrari would ask me !

    Didier.

    Didier,

Yes I have experienced the same. They really rip you off. That is why I decided to bring my car to my local small Ferrari Garage instead of the "real" thing! My experience with the small garages is also that they are more passionate about the car and care more!

I had the same problem when I wanted new front discs.
