Do they have it? If so does it work or do they use it? I could never see it open up like the Merc. Maybe the Ferrari is just so much faster that the Merc could not pass using DRS.

You will have seen it a few times, but not often, as mostly Seb was the main tv-interest car, and he was in the lead, so he only got DRs when he was coming up to pass a backmarker.

You don't get DRS when out front, only when within a second of another car. This also applies to lapped cars, if the leader approaches one of those he gets a DRS.

Go to 4min 24s mark you can see the DRS opening up on Sebs car. If you then fast forward to 5m 30s mark you can see the Racing Point and TR with the DRS open but the McLaren which just got passed has to keep it closed.

They also use DRS during FP and Quali too in the DRS zones.

It just seemed Ham’s was opening up when more than a sec behind. The big screens at the track were not providing intervals, so was hard to judge.

I guess the fact it never allowed him to get close enough for a pass attempt is a good thing, or just highlights the lower downforce on the Ferrari.

I don’t think so, but then, wouldn’t surprise me at all.... I think we are lucky the stewards don’t have a baby pink flag they wave to tell a driver ‘you are in front of Elton, pull over and let him through, then resume’ hehehehehe

It wasn't explained properly but it's under 1s crossing the detection zones (turn 5 and 9) not 1s in the activation zones.

I understand that. I think only more impressive that Seb could hold him off, since the Merc has been better in the corners this yr so Seb was getting a good jump into the activation zone to stay ahead.
