It seems like enjoying the car really takes on a more pleasant turn when some sort of balance is achieved.

Meaning, being able to concentrate on one's profession (that can also be a passion) and also enjoying the F-car related activities as well (Driving, meets, etc). Finding the balance in the All Or Nothing personality traits that I'm sure many F-car owners share.

Maybe it is just another step on the ladder of ownership.

Perhaps a way to loose some of the Ferraritinus, being able to step back, and enjoy the car in a whole new light.

It seems the closer or rather more obsessive/compulsive to the car one gets - thinking of every hose, every bump or hump, can diminish enjoying the experience.

I have a feeling that I am not the only one with such thought.

    Mike.

I don't believe in balance. 2011 was my year of the Ferrari. Every penny went into it and every available moment was somehow tied to it. It was driven from Florida to California and up to Canada in 2011. So far this year I haven't spent a penny on it and haven't driven it yet. It probably won't get much use this year. I'll probably drive it every couple months to keep things lubricated.

It is tiring to keep up with all-out enthusiasts in any field. I ride my Ducati at the track, but not to the level of the real Duc crowd, so I am an amateur. I sail my trimaran but don;t do all the races on the bay so I am an amateur compared to the guys who do it all out. My wife and I trained in martial arts for quite a while, but we had jobs and couldn't keep going at the broken rib level all the time, so we were part timers...

    etc.etc.

Ferrari isn;t my end all and be all. It's sooooo fun and I love it and we drive it and we will participate, but it's just one part of a happy life FOR US.

    moderation in moderation.

Be happy. Sail fast. Ride hard. Drive smiling.

I have been crazy about cars all my life. I have had sports cars since I was 22. Ever since I bought my 360 a little over two years ago, I am and always will be obsessed with the car. It is perfect for me and my lifestyle. Being in the FCA and talking to other owners has enhanced my obsession. Before I bought my car, I talked about Ferraris. Now I have friends that like to talk about them as well. I don't think it has comsumed my life because I have a great job that I love. I just have one more thing in my life to look foward to. A drive in the Fcar.

    Cheers, Nate

It's hard to be apart... I spent 5 months away from my cars in 2006 (misery - working in Darwin),7 months away in 2010 (not so bad as I was living in Treviso, Italy and got to see some gorgeous cars and the factory, and testing at Fiorano, and Ferrari win at Monza AND Goodwood); now separated again, back to work in HK...got to drive the Bambino at Christmas and will take the big car out in May... gunna be a long 5 months...
