It all started about noon on Monday. When I returned everybody was in the pool drinking margaritas and enjoying something called Peruvian Marching Powder My head started to spin.

The rest of the night was pretty much a blur with so many twists and turns that I truthfully cannot remember who did what to who.

Then Stefan arrived. We spent hours talking about the differences in prison systems in the USA and Sweden etc, etc.

It was late, or early (I cant remember) but I needed to get home. Stefan offered to drive me but the 3 Vs (vodka, vicodene, and Viagra) I had just consumed gave me an odd sense of driving super powers and I took the keys. I was bound and determined to make it to Santa Barbara in 5 minutes (distance about 60 miles). As I crested a small hill going 350 MPH a coyote returning home from a late night raiding garbage cans darted across the road. Being the nature lover that I am, I swerved into the light pole.

As we came to a stop, we noticed some interesting things. 1) The car was cut in half. 2) The lipstick that I had been wearing was smeared all over the airbag in front of me. 3) The radio was still working!

I offered to stay and wait for the tow truck but Stefan said do you want to end up back in jail! and run Dietrich, run!

I just woke up about an hour ago and was amazed to read the news and see this thread. Well, now you guys know the true story!

Thanks for posting. This account sounds legit to me. Makes sense that there was fire, from oil on the hot engine if nothing else. Can you point us to the aoutocross board for the original post?

I never saw anyone else, don't think he was racing anyone.
Tell you what, though. The shock wave when he went by me rocked the Expedition hard. I was still shaking a half hour later, and it wasn't the cold..

I stopped just short of a fireball 4 lanes wide and 20 feet tall. He wound up about a quarter mile further down the road.
I was only doing about 50; he was going a little faster..

Just saw that the owner, who stuck around, had a .09 BAC. Oops.

You see that little rise way off on the horizon in the fifth photo down? That's where he passed me in the #2 lane heading back towards the camera. He was already out of control there, and then hit the pole and cut the car in half. You slide a loooong way when you traveling fast... "

My sources have informed me that the Enzo swerved to avoid a Bigfoot that was crossing the highway,...hence the rumors of the driver leaving the scene and heading into the mountains. Case closed.

Really??? My sources say that OJ Simpson was driving the car and they were chasing the real killer when he lost control and crashed. After the crash OJ got out and started chasing the perp on foot with a 5-iron in hand.
