Are you keeping track of all the Enzos in drag too? Like the MC12, modern birdcage etc? PS: I sent you a PM, did you get that or did you have a heart attack reading it?
Ehhh.. It did cross my mind, but there's only a couple of places I can think of and neither is open to the public. Barring those, L.A. is a pretty big place and it theoretically could be anywhere. I think that the fact we haven't seen it yet means it's under lock-and-key, possibly at the Sheriff's station a stone's throw from my house.
No, but there are others keeping track - I know absolutely NOTHING of this new Birdcage I keep hearing about and I feel a little embarrassed to even say that, but it's true... Do you have a link I can click to see pictures and information...? Was it made on an Enzo chassis...? Tridente is collecting MC12 chassis numbers... Oh, crap...! I totally forgot about it...! I'll have to check to see if we have that issue - I'm sure we do...
Modern birdcage is IMHO one of the hottest cars of all times: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.car.ee/wallpapers/previews/maserati-birdcage-75th-concept-66.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.car.ee/wallpapers/maserati/maserati-birdcage-75th-concept/66/&h=351&w=460&sz=100&tbnid=hrUHJogWtVsJ:&tbnh=95&tbnw=125&hl=en&start=9&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmaserati%2Bbirdcage%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DG Chassis is Enzo. There was an article in a past Octane. If you don't have that Pilota, let me know and I'll scan the article for you. Probably the world's biggest gathering of Enzos. Ever.
One thing this whole crash will do is reinforce the typical bad guy stereo type in the media/movies of the "bad guy" Ferrari owner. Wreck at high speed, Swiss Mafia connections its got it all.
Maybe someone can photoshop a picture of Stefan with a nitrous bottle over one shoulder and the caption "I live one half of a kilometer at a time". Better if you can substitute the Swedish chef in his place instead. Bork bork!
MC 12/MCC chassis/Enzo chassis have different wheelbases among other things. Birdcage vin# is MCC not Enzo.

Makes me wonder if they had sense to collect some of Stefans blood so they can match it with the blood on the drivers side. At least then they can verify if he was driving it. He could've been driving it, and possibly the "driver" was really a passenger. Or the driver is just a bullsh1t story. Either way this is all too humorous. That's another thing with Supercars, they make the headlines when they get smashed.
I would LOVE to hear the telephone call to this guy's insurance angent "Uh, hi Bob, its me Joe you watch the local news this morning? No good. I was kinda wonderin about the deductable on the ol Ferrari. Why? Funny that you should ask. Get this, youre gonna laugh. You see I was out partying and this dude in a Mercedes SLR told me that his car was fast blah, blah, blah. Well I couldnt let this ****** go around saying that a German car could out race an Italian car so we headed out to Malibu and took them up to 200 MPH funny thing 200 MHP things happen about 4 times faster at this speed as they do at the posted speed limit. Well you see I sorta lost control of the Ferrari and went up a hill, got airborne and hit a telephone pole and, uh, hmmmm, sorta killed the Enzo" *CLUNK* "Bob?? Bob? You still there??" Classic just goes to show you, you cant buy common sense.
I know this is more wishful thinking than pratical.. Wasnt Ferrari's line on the Enzo that only the select few respectable and treasured owners would be able to purchase the Enzo? Im sure both of these that the Swede bought were rebuy's but Its clear Ferrari could have made and sold double the amount of Enzo's if they really wanted, but like to build rare cars... Id be curious if anyone at Ferrari is trying to "buy back" the black one from dumba&&? You know... so there's no more bad press by him crashin that one as well. Hey im all for doing what you want with YOUR car.. YOU bought it.. but damn these are like works of art no matter how you try to spin it or diminish the fact by saying "oh its just a car." If I was over at Ferrari publicity I would be doing this.. at least you could say without a doubt you dont condone this type of behavior with their cars by buying the car back.. come on that would be GREAT! Bytheway.. when everyone says..399 still around, is that including the couple that were probably destroyed for crash and safety runs? or did they actually build 400 +?
This talk about insurance has me thinking. If this guy had this car in the country on a show/display waiver, plus it appears this guy has a less then stellar value set, what are the chances there is no insurance on this car? I mean this car was never meant to see the road if it is here on a waiver. Why would he have collision insurance?
