    Greetings from Long Island.

For the last 8 years or so, I've been making the trip up with my wife to the Concorso in Hartford on Father's Day. Since my wife's parents live in the West Hartford area, it was always a great get-away weekend for both of us. My wife and I get to visit her family and I was able to spectate at one of my favorite Ferrari events of the year. Someday, I hope to actually have an F-car to display at the show.

When I checked on the Concorso a few months ago, I was under the impression it would be a repeat of last year's event at the Polo Grounds on Father's Day. Good thing I checked up on it today as I was shocked to read that both the venue and the date changed! And with it being at what seems to be a smaller venue, potentially fewer cars to see. Apparently, I missed the memo about this year's show.

Obviously, this is a done deal, and I hope the event is great. I know the organizers put a lot of time and effort into putting the show on every year. And I'd still have liked to go. Unfortunately, I can't make it back up here to see it on the newly scheduled day.

Will there be any Ferrari events on Father's Day in the Hartford area - formal or informal? Thanks.

    Hi David
Sorry to burst your bubble. We have decided to relocate to West Hartford center due to some issues with the Polo Grounds last year and also due to it being off the beaten path. We also changed up the date so as to draw more great cars that were previously unable to attend due to Fathers Day. Last years event drew 130 cars. This year we anticipate drawing at least 150 if not more! West Hartford Center is deceiving, but can certainly hold that many cars and more. There are some pretty great cars this year already registered. Last years show was great but this years show will be amazing!

Drive down to New Canaan and check out Caffeine & Carburetors. It is amazing and there are tons of old and new Ferrari's there, plus other classics, exotics, etc. Worth the drive. Very crowded, and fun. Check the site.

    Mike,

Like I said, I hope it is very successful this year for you and all the organizers. I'm certain a LOT of thought and planning goes into making it happen. There will always be a few people who can't make the time/place no matter what day it is or where it gets held. I'm ok with that, just disappointed that I will miss it this time around. Well, hey, I'll try to make it up there next year for it.

Glastonbury seems to be reasonably close enough to where we'll be. What time do cars usually arrive and depart?

Cars generally start arriving in GBury around 9 or 9:30 and leave 11:30 or 12. Sometimes a few cars get together for a cruise or lunch.

Always fun, always a lot of interesting cars, old, new, sports cars, hot rods, classics, motorcycles.

Turnout last month was reported as 300 cars but more typical is in the 150 car range. This year the group has been invited to go to the Darien Car Show afterwards, which is an interesting local car show.

Caffeine & Carburetors is where it is at. Last month there was a NART Spider, an ex-Phil Hill Testarossa, and an ex-Fangio Alfa-Romeo 6C Competition Berlinetta. It seems like every event is a banner event, and even better is the fact that around these historically significant cars are "Car Guys" drinking coffee and enjoying a nice quiet Sunday morning in New Canaan!

I think the monthly New Canaan events are so good because they are full of enthusiasts and it is located in an area where likely some of the best cars in the country happen to live due to the proximity to New York. I'd venture to say that they may be one of the best on going events in the country.

Agreed! As I tell others who ask me about C&C; "I'm a car guy from a very young age, so it takes a lot to impress me... And C&C blows me away every time."
