Just curious as too how the Houston owner's would feel about having a non-owner start attending event's around the the area? I am 43yr's old and have "Tifosi Red" in my vain's and will once again be going to Ferrari of Houston this week to meet with Don Pierce concerning employment. Steve Forristal hired me back in the '80's but due to school I lost the job of a lifetime. Also Scott the head mechanic at Ferrari of Houston basically hired me 9yr's ago but do to my lack of "dealership experience" Mr.Risi did not let me come aboard.

This is most likely irrelevant info but I just thought I would share and let everyone know I am not a 'troll'. I just in some form or fashion I need, no must, be in some small but very meaningful way apart of the Ferrari community.

If there are any event's that's an 'outsider' could possibly attend in the future I would appreciate the 'head's up" so to speak.

    Thank's for listening,
    Gregg Travis

Not to speak for any Houston guys but If you are a member of the Ferrari Club of America then you can attend any of the FCA events around the country. You don't have to be an owner to join. The Houston guys are very nice and they have very classy events. I'm a non-owner and I get invitations to their events all the time but I haven't been able to attend any yet. I met a bunch of the Houston members at the Keels & Wheels show and they were all very nice to me.

    TexasMike,
I appreciate your reply, thank's. Concerning the FCA membership I should have been a member many many year's ago but will become one very soon. I agree that the Houston owner's are very nice people as the one's I have met in the past well very hospitable. My usual episode's concerning the Keel's & Wheel's event is where I see it re-run on Motorweek and knowing I missed it once again I go to the garage looking for a rope to end my misery LOL!

Once again thank's a bunch for your reply I truelly appreciate it,
    Gregg

OH MY GOD how are you Aaron???? No I bought that SC300, sold it, and now drive an '02 Toyota 4Runner 4x4. I'm finished with that scene, way too many Dodge Caravan's wanting to race because they saw the big front mount, know what I mean LOL? I decided too stop blowing all my money on performance part's because with all that I had invested over the last 10yr's I could be driving my Ferrari by now. Time to focus on the 'dream'!!!

Wow it's a great to talk with you again but enough about me what's up with you?

Next up is the New Orleans event...November 1-4, 2007.

My Ferrari Art Car, back from the Texas Mile will be on display in Texas City at the Charles Brown Tribute Concert, Saturday the 3rd, dunno if I'll be with Art Cars or Classic Cars, maybe straddling the line. LOL! That event starts at 2PM and ends with Marcia Ball, over at 10PM. Nessler Center.

Joining the FCA turned out to be a great decision for me. I got to speak to owners of various cars and get their opinions on it. Seeing the cars themselves on a monthly basis was a great thing too. Grady Owens, the Director of the SE Region, helped me a lot when I was hunting for a 348. He gave me lots of great advice and thanks in part to him I bought a good, reliable 348. You don't need to be a Ferrari owner to be a member of the FCA - all you need is a passion for the marque. The Houston chapter has a lot of nice folks here.

Ferrarichat and in particular the 348/355 brotherhood is one of the key reasons I decided to take the plunge from being an admirer from afar to an owner. With these bunch of great guys, I knew that someone would help me if I had any issues. Long live the 'hood! :D
