hello have a cuestion ,why ferrari is not running good all this years in F1?thankyou
That's the 64k$ question. Personally I think it has to do with the last minute changes to the exhausts mandated by the FIA. We'll have a better idea when we see what they change come Spain.
Unfortunately, I highly doubt the red cars will be catching up to anything this season. The design just went in the wrong direction. Mark
The one winning scenario is that so many teams and drivers collect points that the championship races stay open long enough. Oh, and that they fix Clifford.
I think that is playing a major part in their troubles, in addition to the reactive ride height systems being banned. For some reason, I think Ferrari had their car more integrated around that system than Lotus and when it was banned it threw the car out of whack. This might explain their traction and stability issues.
Nope. It is for the same reasons the car was slow last year. Remember that old saying about fish and smelling? Depends on how you define a write off season. If you mean winning the WDC then yes. But if you mean winning races or at least podiums then I think all is not lost yet: I'm pretty sure they'll figure out what went wrong in the next few weeks (too bad that Bahrain is happening as it costs them another week) and I wouldn't be surprised if they come up with a totally new car, crash tests and all. OTOH they might make a decision that all is lost and start testing bits and pieces of the 2013 car during the rest of the season. Which is why it'd be really helpful to have a decent #2 driver who can actually give solid feedback.
Costa simply wanted to evolve F150 which was fundamentally not a bad car. Luca and the team wanted to do something crazy, and crazy they have gone. Now where's that pointy dunce cap I've been saving for just an occasion..... F2012 will not be able to podium on merit this season, ever. Their sidepod and exhaust updates are a bandaid on the Titanic and still won't get them anywhere near the leaders. Sauber and Lotus are just too far ahead of the game for them right now.
The car has zero chance at hitting a podium on merit unless some catastrophic event happens during a race. It's a mess compared to at least 4 other cars on the field. What's worse for them is this is not a car they can evolve. They will ditch their unique items to this car and get their feet back on the ground next season and start building again, but they won't have a real contendor from there for at least another two seasons beyond that. So say 2014 or 2015 is what I'm looking at as the next time Ferrari may have their stuff together.
-1 New engine, new game. Not saying that Ferrari will have a guaranteed winner, but building new engines is going to change the game for everybody. And since Ferrari is down at the moment, chances are they might get lucky and end up on the sunny side.
Karma. The team has no synergy, unlike the days of Todt, Brawn, and Schumacher. Todt was not afraid of LdM, so LdM wisely left him and Ross alone. I think Andreas is correct, there will be some podiums, but forget the WDC. That will be a McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull battle. But those podiums will likely come in situations where there are equalizers, like rain. Pray for rain.
I agree with the last bit at least. I'm hoping that Lotus, Sauber and Williams will be in the mix as well.
+1 [Way too much agreement going on here today ] Hopefully, they'll all be stealing points from each other until they get Clifford back from the vet...... Cheers, Ian
Last season it was, "Our cars suck, but we're preparing for 2012." And now it's 2012 and even before the season started, they were already saying they suck. Bah!!! See above. lol When the car isn't performing, what more is there to say? You know it's a sad day for Ferrari when Mercedes out qualifies the field. What did Schumi say last year? Something about needing a better car? Well he has one now! I don't totally blame Massa for his his performance. Yes, he is a major contributing factor, but if you're piloting a mule instead of a stallion, you can't expect stellar results. No matter what excuse people can come up with, other teams are doing well. Other teams are out qualifying Ferrari. Those teams are obviously doing something right, whereas Ferrari is not living up to it's racing heritage. *sigh* The only saving grace for Ferrari is that it's at least churning out awesome road cars! lol
I guess they should have kept the push-rod type suspensions instead of using the pull-rod type which Ferrari is the only team using it and it could have been one of the reasons led to the cars problems.
