'95 F355 Challenge listed on ebay in the U.S. For $135k. Looks to be a nice example. Ferrari 355 355 Challenge Coupe | eBay Robb
Robb -- a few months ago (maybe a year?) I was PM-ing with John Houghtaling on this board and he was telling me that he's been compiling info about the CH series cars. You may want to check with him if you have not done so already...
Glad you think it's a nice example. Someone on here said that the car had at least one rollover accident and possibly a second. I'll see if I can find that post. Here it is: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/143499959-post11.html Note: the car is represented as never having been involved in any sort of accident, let alone one or two rollover accidents.
If someone respectable inspected it and it's straight now, that's all fine and good. My only point is that it shouldn't be represented as never having been in an accident. An accident doesn't make it a bad car but I don't like purposeful misrepresentations.
Compared to european prices it's a steal... They would need to put the car on a rig to check if the whole chassis is true.
This is the car the new Florida owner listed on "James List" for near $200k right? Original race livery was red and yellow stripes / red wheels. hapoy to PM info to interested parties. Robb
Correct. Per Sherpas post, this is the car which was restored by an Fchatter a few months ago. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/challenge-gt-cars/466638-1995-ferrari-f355-challenge-ex-jim-mccormick-project.html#post143499959
This is the thread starting in Nov 14. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/challenge-gt-cars/466638-1995-ferrari-f355-challenge-ex-jim-mccormick-project.html I'm happy to defer to Sherpa for good advice on the good bad and ugly on car history and condition. This car has been maintained by Classic Coach in NJ and was expertly repaired by them after the racing incidents. The car has set lap records after that time at some tracks so if it was on life support and bent, then that would not be the case. Car has a good track record and regular servicing. Buyers should of course do their due diligence. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
My brother and I would love to buy another challenge car. We are tapped out at the moment. You know how it goes. But I can't help but entertain replacing my '95 B with the right challenge car... They are kind of my perfect idea of a Ferrari. The seller may not be aware of the full history of the car with its high points of low points. They may just have bought the car to make some money and not be as fanatical as we are on records or history. Glad there are so many helpful members here to help inform. Robb
Thanks to my good friend Barry: Here is the car at Line Rock. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoyJYsbnXU4[/ame] Looks fantastic. GLWS. Robb
No issue on a correctly repaired car CC is good. It's a real race car any have been banged around its the game
My former car! I really miss the car but needed to invest in some business projects. It is straight now, but well known that the car had been in a few fender benders. Runs amazing and tracks even better!
Agreed. I don't get why anyone would advertise a Challenge car as accident free? I am sure every Challenge car has seen something...
No doubt. Every raced Challenge has been whacked to one degree or another. It's all fixable and if it was fixed well, it has no difference at all. I don't know anyone who had an issue with your representation of the car. It was all pretty clear and cut and dry. It's just a shame that it's so woefully misrepresented now.
