Time to do a project thread about my ferrari. Have some plans for her and thought to share with you. who am i? My name is Fredrik and I come from Sweden (Vansbro) 29 years old. I work as a salesman for Bianchi Sweden and as a part time firefighter. When I'm not working I spend time with my wife and builds on our house. Picked up my first Ferrari in June 2013. Been looking over a year after the right object. tried i 3-4 others i Sweden but they where in to bad condition. So i decided do check outside Sweden and find one in Nurnberg/Germany. Below are a bunch roadtrip photos me and my dear friend Mattias took of our trip to Germany. We call it "To Germany for Italy" packed ready for roadtrip! stopped for food and got a parking ticket, was Worth it =) Trelleborg - Rostock ferry with TT-line just got on the ferry ¨ 6 hours later we reach Rostock 900 Km from Rostock to Nurnberg are now waiting...=) Fantastiskt vilken välutvecklad infrastruktur Tyskland har. Mattias som står för bilderna igen 13 police cars... Finally there after driving all night. NURNBERG! Company Mertel Italio cars The car Packed the car on the trailer. Tight! A few Pictures from the journey back home to Sweden. back on the ferry again. unloaded the car outside my work. Home safe and parked in the garage, now Waits registration and some more.. To be continued...
Congratulations on finding your car! That is a great pictorial of your trip to pick her up. I especially like your tow vehicle and trailer. In the US, we are accustomed to seeing a SUV or truck towing a car, so yours is definitely a treat for the eyes!
Thanks! the journey was Worth it all. The car is mine but the trailer i borrowed from a friend. great with the coverd top. had some issues already from start. Discover dripping on the floor after day one... gah! Proved to be a simple error. a gasket to the shift linkage. easy and fast switch. phu! also switched the rubber around it. aslo find out that the handbrake was in bad condition... on my way to Mora to do the Swedish registration. 5 minutes left.. after that, i visit ricambi to do an order for all the handbrake parts, just to be sure.. also some new gas spring for the bonnet and a oil changing kit for next season. two weeks later UPS deliverd!! just love ricambis website, easy to understand and finding parts and great support. one of my best friends own a VAG workshop. he helpt me with the brakes started tearing down. left side, the easy side. The right side was worse... a bolt to hold one of the handbrake pad was broken inside the spindle. wrong bolt orderd (my wrong) so i took it to Anders and he fixed it - thank you Anders. just cut it down to the right length. [/URL Then we drilled the old one out - straight thru. pad been worn out.. almost done. New stuff. old vire:s Pic taken from my garagedoor.. there´s one more F355 GTS just across the street...
My garage. fixing the walls for the right feeling.. a overhead and a Ferrari logo did the work...=) the red wall also done with the logo and Everything. Also bought a custom car cover. got the rear end waxed and switched the numberplate holder did a mock up on the diffusors... 4 piece of these A friend helps me manufacture these i carbon fibre, (they are so damn expensive to buy) promise to show the finsh result later. stock again, just a mockup. will look something like these (just a pic from the web, not mine)
today I´ve mounted batteri charger vires (to exercise the battery during vinter) got it up in the air. did my own Electric harness for the C-TEK charger done!
So... maybe time for some info about the car...=) Ferrari F355 GTB 1996 (no F1) - about 35000 km - rosso corsa (fully original paint!) - one previous owner (except for the firm) - complete service - fully black leather interior with red carpets (if someone want to change carpets red vs black please let me know) - challenge exhuast what are the plans for her... some of the things i had in mind: (feel free to comment) - lowering springs (about 5 cm) - 19" Imola racing fiorano III rims - capristo exhaust - 4-2-1 headers - de-cat - manufacture carbo fibre parts for the interior and some of the exterior and enginebay - challenge grill - bigger diffusors carbon fibre - new kickplates (making my own i alu) - maybe bigger brakes - sparco 383 steeringwheel + hub - respray the front bumper (holes for the numberplate that doesnt fit mine)
Very neat and tidy work Fredrik. Bravo. When you say that you plan to fit 4-2-1 headers, which headers are fitted at the moment and which model do you plan to fit in the future?
ff355b: Have the time of my Life =) ronrob: not sure yet but been checking for something like this... quite new to Ferraris so i´m very humble and open minded for suggestions. today i have stock headers. (don´t know the condition on these)
Stock headers are 4-2-1 but, of course, they are known to fail. With your car being 17 years old, maybe they have been replaced?
Very nice post Fredrik. I almost felt like I was along for the ride to pick up your car. The photo of the car being unloaded back home looked like the trailer was giving birth to the car. I'm sure that one of you FCHAT psychologists will tell me that I have mother issues, but perhaps it merely signifies a new beginning for the car/owner. Too much? Anyway, congratulations and welcome to the family. Henry
Carbonio: Thanks for sharing! will check it out. ronrob: maybe they have been replaced, don´t have any info on that. but its possible. i now i checked for welds if they have been broken and then fixed but hard to see anything. the one i showed Picture i think that´s was 4-1 headers (replacing stock is the main thing) tried to learn as much as can about these cars Before i got one myself, now that they have a few weak spots such as headers, valves and so on... love the F355 so it does´nt bother me=) RSO1091 Thanks Henry, brings a smile to my face =) love to read about your mother issues... Reading your comment, almost felt like you where in the vw Passat backseat when we drove to Nurnberg.. =)

Trying to articulate what the driving experience feels like to someone uninitiated, is like trying to relate what it's like to be married, or have children. You never fully appreciate it until you get that experience first hand. And that my friend, is what keeps us coming back for more. Your VW collection is quite impressive however. Keep us posted on your future driving experiences. Henry
ronrob: absolutly! thumbs up! =) RSO1091: great comparison Henry, could`nt agree more. regards // Fredrik
Thank you! --------------------------------------------------------- Won this on ebay yesterday=) removed the front bumper and got it ready for paint.
Beautiful example... The car trailer looked like a coffin though!!! Amazing that the 355 fit so well and was towed with that small of a car!
