Received a letter from the Ferrari dealership today. The letter reads... "During a continuous program for monitoring of vehicles in service, we have identified a possible modification that may require up-dating on your vehicle under the terms of factory warranty. The relative service campaign action will take approximately 30 minutes to conduct. The labour cost involved will be covered by Ferrari Warranty." Apparently campaign 759 relates to the water hose clamp to thermostat. Can anyone cast anymore light on the recall?
Details please: 1) What country are you in? 2) What year and variant 355 do you own? 3) Did it list what years or by VIN which cars are involved?
getting the 355 checked next week, apparently they inspect the water hose clamp and replace if need be, i'll ask more questions on the day.
Turns out it's not so much a case of replacing the water hose clamp, but the replacement of a braided (frayed) fuel line cause by an incorrectly installed/positioned clamp. The incorrect installation the result of a service where engine removal was required (and due care not taken during engine reinstall).
Definitely an old recall for 96-97 vehicles (VINs 106718 -> 110435) Maybe they found that something similar could occur on later models after an engine removal? Oh well, they didn't charge anything. http://www.theaa.com/allaboutcars/recalls/index.jsp?makeName=Ferrari&makeId=B2
