Is anybody else not surprised at all at the results? I love how the F50 stays right on the leading cars' tails, and then passes them one by one per lap on the straight-aways. The F50 passes them so quickly like it's no big deal!

I'm surprised that the F40 got the fastest lap (by a lot) and highest top speed (also by a lot)

Made the 355 look silly, didn't it? :)

I'm not surprised, toss on some good brake pads and your set.
That one also seemed to have OZ Racing lightweight wheels on it as well.

The F40 is quite a machine....

Looks like he was having a little trouble with those brakes towards the end there. That F50 sounded ridiculous. Most manic exhaust note I've ever heard.

Not sure it means anything at all about the relative speed of the cars but, that is one fantastic video.

Looks to me like he overshot the corner tring to pass the F50....if there was one more lap the F40 would have passed the F50. Even though the F50 started in the front, and the F40 started last.

I doubt it. The F50 didn't seem to be trying that hard since he only had to pass the 2 Porsches. The F40 on the other hand had to catch up from all the way behind which is why his lap speed and top speed were highest. And as much as I love the F40 and as much as you F40 lovers think it's the best, there's a reason the F50 came after the F40, because it's a better car when it comes to performance. I admit the Enzo > F50 even though I like the F50 better.

I think the F50 started one place ahead of the F40, but it looked like they both were having brake issues by the end. The F40 made that obvious error, but going into several corners especially the double right hander after the start finish the F50 seemed to be having trouble. Both the F40 and GT2 caught right up to it there on the last or second last lap.

The F50 was by many considered a "failure" it had many issues....in most performace aspects the F40 out-performs it.

If you ask 100 Tifosi what they would choose as the better overall car, I bet 90/100 would say the F40. I know I would....

The GT2 did better than I expected. Nice move by the F40 near the end.

Nice! The superior HP of the F40 & F50 over the others was painfully obvious! The F50 was definitely no improvement over the F40 in a straight line, but it is said to be much easier to drive at the limit. Looks like the F40 was getting a bit dodgy a few times, notice the quick steering corrections. I assume it was on street tires, I remember where a man that owned a F40 and F50 commented in FORZA that the F40 responded very well to slicks, better then the F50. Regardless of the F50's advantages in some areas, I would always want the F40. :D

By whom ? Probably not experts but complete idiots.

    Handling , rings a bell ?

Although it`s slower in a straight line, around a short and twisty track like Fiorano it`s about 2.5-3 seconds faster, and that`s a lot.

I think one of the most important things about the F40 its the fact that it`s wold.Very wild. Besides other important things , of course.

I recommend the EVO article when they test all of them. :)

The F40 outperforms the F50? Ha! So Ferraris get worse as they get newer? That's kind of like saying the 360 is better than the F430. The F50 was a "failure", wow, that's a really narrow-minded viewpoint.

People like the F40 better because it was the first real supercar and was the first beast of its kind, not because it performs better. You don't have to like the F50 but you can't deny it's the better car, at least in some ways. Even if it's not, it's certainly not a "failure."

    F40:
    Horsepower: 478 bhp
    Weight: 2976 lbs
    0-60 mph: 3.8 sec
    Top Speed: 201 mph

    F50:
    Horsepower: 513 bhp
    Weight: 2712 lbs
    0-60 mph: 3.7 sec
    Top Speed: 207 mph

Those are just numbers but I've also read many times that the F50 handles much better. My point was that even though the F50 started towards the front and the F40 towards the back and they ended 1-2, doesn't mean that if the F50 started in back it would have lost. The F40 had a lot more catching up to do since he started in back, while the F50 seemed to be taking it easy since he was already in front.
