Very nice shots. Looks real on some of the pictures. I have this model too and also the regular F40 in red and yellow. I am waiting for the black lightweight to come out and get it too. Great models.
However I don't understand Kyosho. The models don't have any plumbing detail in the rear. This is really strange considering the fact that their 1:43 scale F40 has it. Also it would have been nice and very easy/inexpensive if they had 4 or 5 point harness belts in the lightweights too. It would have been more in tune with the sliding windows, hollow doors and the racing rims.

I thought that too, but most came from the factory with standard belts. Guess that's why....

By that logic, none of them came from the factory with those mufflers.

Why are you reacting this way? What did I say. I thought we were both thinking the same way? There are F40 cars that came from the factory with the lexan windows and "gutted doors"(mostly EU) and they were F40 that came with 4 point harness from the factory. However, just like you stated most came with regular 3 point belts. I don't know if any street production F40 ever came out from the factory with those rims. I think that a lot of them were fitted with them, but later on and I don't think they were "a factory option" so to speak. I am not sure about it and if someone knows for a fact, please comment on it. However I can guarantee you that no F40 came from the factory with a tubi exhaust. So what I have always been saying is that Kyosho is really weired when it comes to the details on their cars. They are hands down the best models ever for the money and make a great product, but.......
It would not have cost them pretty much anything to have 4 point harness in there , but they chose not to. The F40 model(all of them) that Kyosho made, puzzles me big time. It does not have any plumbing under the hood at the back yet the seats slide inside. The tires have the correct pattern but no sidewall markings. It is one hell of a model with very poor wheels for example.
Look I am not trying to put the model down in any way. It is the absolutely best diecast F40 ever made in any big scale. Period.
I am just pointing out what I have noticed. Of course I have a comment. This is what we all come here for, isn't it? To comment on our models and interests. Sorry that what is sometimes said does not suit everyone.

Maybe I misread what you wrote, I thought you were making like my comment made no sense and you were using the aftermarket exhaust to prove your point. Maybe it was your wording, maybe I read it to quickly. Either way, no harm done....

And as for your questions about the "Light Weight" changes. The Wheels are OZ Racing wheels, very popular yes, but not at all a factory option, same for the Tubi exhaust. The sliding windows and red inner door panels were a choice from the factory.

All the models that Kyosho produces are models of cars that are in Japan.

The more I see this car the less I like it.
Something about it looks wrong to me, I think its the stance it has..

I agree about the stance. Its completely different to the Hot Wheels Elite version.
The engine bay also looks very "shiney" Oh and a note of caution,on picking it up
to compare it to the Elite version the windscreen fell out!!! Anyone have any tips
for a fix that wont damage the plastic screen?

Some I have seen seem to be a tad high in the front, a buddies was like that. He took it apart and cut a few "coils" off the springs and it sits lower now. Took 10 minutes. Mine sits fine as is....

Try a little clear liquid model cement, that should do the trick. Kyosho most likely just glued them in at the factory anyway

I'd put that Elite on Ebay if I was you. :)

I don't mean to dismiss your advise, but model glue is not going to work for few reasons. I am not going into explaining them, but the best thing to use would be the adhesive watchmakers use. It is very strong, dries crystal clear and would not attack the plastic or the paint. It is rather inexpensive and the little tube comes with a "needle applicator". Micro-Mark has it. One little tube like this would last you almost a life time even if you build models on a regular basis.

Well I wasn't refering to the Testors crap. I have some clear cement in a small bottle that works real well. Can't remember who made it.

That Micro Mark stuff sounds pretty handy though, might need to pick up a tube. Although I have been lucky and have maybe broken one or two small pieces on all of my models ever. I am VERY careful with them....

You should definitely give it a try. It is made for watches. This is what they glue the bezels to the crown with.
