Here is a little bit from a article about the Ferrari F430 in 'Car and Driver". I will give the link for the full article to you guys once caranddriver.com updates its site. Here it is:

While the engine went BWWAAAAAA!!!!!!!! and those crackle red mounts twitched in the rear-view mirror, the computer counted to 60 in- wait, does that say 3.5 seconds? Look the quatermile is 11.7 seconds at 123 mph. Can't be. Fearing a test-box meltdown, we consulted a rival magazine that was radar gunning another F430 driven by a Ferrari factory pilot. Results: Identical.
The archive states that the old 360 Modena was more than a second slower to 60. The mighty million-buck F40: 0.7 seconds slower. The rare ashens-molars F50: 0.3 in arrears. Ferrari's cheapest model appears to be its second quickets production car ever, behine -not by much-the enzo. A V10 LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO GETS A SNOOT FULL OF BULL DUST. HOW'S THAT FOR PROGRESS!?!?!?!??!?

Allenlambo, I guess you were finally right about something, finally, for once. When you said that Ferrari lied about the numbers, well I'm glad they did!! Ferrari claimed 0-60 time of 4 seconds flat, now Ferrari would like to restate that - the correct time is 3.5 seconds. many tests have been done, and the results are identical every time: 3.5 seconds. Goodbye Lamborghini , Hello Ferrari. If you sold that Diablo Sv, you could actually get a real car!!! A Ferrrari f430.

Do you think, this is real?? I mean, I know some people dont trust Car and Driver, but I get it for free so I dont mind. The Fiorano test track does go slightly downhill, but by a very small amount. They did say that a rival magazine had the same results, but Didn't say what track the testing was on.

The sanity of the numbers reported by C&D are discussed extensively in this thread which has been left in the non-model-specific forum because it is more about C&D's testing and the other magazines testing and the Ford GT numbers and testing on Fiorano.

Rather than merging this thread... which keeps popping up understandably in this forum, I'm just going to close this one and leave it here as a pointer to the other thread.

Let's keep all the discussion of the C&D article's numbers in that thread, thanks.
