BBR and Looksmart recently released models of the F60 America in 1:43 scale. I decided to purchase from each manufacturer because I wasn't sure if either one was going to actually make the model.

Because I have wondered myself how the product between the two brands compares and I had a chance to compare them, I decided to make a small thread with some photos and thoughts.

Both models come in a simple, sturdy box and are mounted to a base with a nameplate and with a clear cover. Both bases are plastic but the BBR car has a carbon fiber veneer on top. Overall the BBR car has more weight which gives it a more solid feel.

Both cars have bright blue paint with crisp decals. The paint on the Looksmart car has a larger flake which appears out of scale when viewed closely. Also the decals on the BBR car appear slightly whiter than those on the Looksmart model.

On both cars, the decals have a slight modeled texture. Perhaps they could have taken more time to set the decals or use the high end approach and apply a clear coat over the decals.

The details present well on both cars but they are more crisp and better placed on the BBR car. Also on the BBR car the dash is painted in metallic red which more closely replicates the actual car and gives an added visual pop to the model.

The price of the Looksmart car is around $175.00 and the BBR car is around $195.00.

Both models have a striking visual appearance that capture the colors, details and overall shape of the real car. But the BBR comes out slightly on top because of the reasons mentioned above and because the difference in price between the two is not that great. The BBR ends up being a better value.

Either one would look great as a stand alone car or part of a collection.

I was always thinking BBR did it very wrong at the front end especially the air intake part this time, no matter 1/43 or 1/18....

Is there something in particular that is off? I think they look pretty good to me. :)

    Good comparison work Pedro.

I agree that overall the BBR is noticeably better.

The air intake metal mask located much more inward than it should be, it looks alright but didn't look like the original design... I agree put aside the front BBR is better overall

    Thanks for the comparison :)
