All right guys I am not even sure if it will be called the F70, but you know what I mean here. The first mules should probably sneakily start their testing specially their cold weather one of these days.

So I figured a thread is in order for the upcoming Super Ferrari.

Any rumours, sightings, speculated tech specs, and design highlights can be discussed here.

Ok I will speculate on some of the tech specs.

    ____________________________________________________________________________

    Potential Engine Option 1:

6.4Liter Direct Injection V12 with Variable Valve Timing and Lift.
    4 Valves per cylinder
Aluminum-Magnesium Alloy Block with Inconel Alloy sleeves
    8500-8700rpm Redline
    Peak Horsepower: 780-800bhp@8300-8500rpm(depending on redline)
    Peak Torque: 535-545lb.ft@5400-5700(depending on redline)
Engine weight(Fully Dressed, all fluids): 440lbs
    Timing chain, electric starter.
Possibly the First Ferrari to feature their KERS system in their road cars.

    Potential Engine Option 2:
5.6Liter Twin Injection Twin Turbocharged V12 with Variable Valve Timing and Lift
    4 Valves per cylinder
Aluminum-Magnesium Alloy Block with Inconel Alloy sleeves
    8700-9000rpm Redline
    Peak Horsepower: 800-850bhp@8500-8800rpm(depending on redline)
    Peak Torque: 600-610lb.ft@4800-5200rpm(dependign on redline)
Engine weight(Fully Dressed, all fluids, turbos and additional plumbing): 430lbs
    Timing chain, electric starter.
Definitely need KERS to provide additional torque while turbo is spooling. So even higher likelyhood of being the first road going Ferrari with KERS
    ____________________________________________________________________________

    Transmission/Differential:

Dual clutch 7 speed gearbox, potentially with some of the 2008 F1 Seamless shift technology integrated. Potential use of first carbon titanium gearbox in road car. Use triple or quad plate carbon-copper friction plate, with aluminum-titanium allowy pressure plate. Dry Carbon Reinforced Light weight alloy twin mass harmonically balanced flywheel. Ferrari will probably revise their E-diff to become even more awesome than the current unit. Final drive ratio could be the same, possibly slightly taller at around 4.00
    ____________________________________________________________________________

    Chassis/Body:

    Layout:
    Mid engine/ Rear Wheel Drive

    Materials:
    1 Piece Carbon Fibre chassis
    All Carbon Fiber Body
    Carbon Kevlar Wheel wells
Porous Multi Geometry Diffusers as developed on the 599xx
    Carbon Reinforced alloy subframe

    Body:
    Curvy shape.
    Fighter Jet Bubble style cockpit
Lower Drag coefficient than previous models
    Higher downforce than previous models.
    ____________________________________________________________________________

    Wheels:
    9.5J X 20 Inches Front
    14J X 20 Inches Rear
Possibly a Carbon Magnesium Wheel, or Full Carbon Fibre composite wheel
    Single Bolt

    ____________________________________________________________________________

    Tires:
Probably manufactured and developed by Bridgestone
    255/35zr20 or 265/35zr20 Front
    365/30zr20 Rear

    ____________________________________________________________________________

    Suspension:
    Pushrod actuated double wishbone suspension.
    Horizontally opposed damper mounting
Triple adjustable outboard supension with external reservoirs mounted on the frame.
Carbon Fibre reinforced alloy arms and pushrods.

    ____________________________________________________________________________

    Brakes:
    400mm rotors front & back.
    Carbon ceramic rotors.
    Billet aluminum-titanium alloy hats.
    Aluminum-Magnesium alloy calipers.
6-8 piston calipers at the front.
4-6 piston calipers at the rear.
    monopiston parking brake.
Probably developed by Brembo or AP Racing.

    ____________________________________________________________________________

Weight(All fluids, full tank of gas):
    ~3127lbs

    ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Lets get to the performance stats now.

    0-62mph: 2.8-3.0seconds
    0-124mph:6.8seconds
    0-186mph:21seconds
    standing 1/4 mile: 10.0 seconds @145-150mph
    Sidpad: 1.07g
    Slalom: 78.8mph

Nurburgring(or Nurburgrunge as Bob Shuben JR calls it) lap time: 7:11 seconds around there

    Braking:
    60-0mph: 94ft
    80-0mph: 165ft

    Top Speed: 240mph possibly 250mph.

Well thats my speculated F70. Well everyone, threads all yours. Enjoy. Thanks.

    Regards,
    Krish

.......hold on.... what? I can't see how it would be anything CLOSE to factual though.

C'mon Bill... Your garage is great, but this has my interest at the moment. :)

    What a bombshell.

    The F70 looks like a hand. ;)

So somehow they finished testing and no one realized. its a 715hp v12. Well the Lambo URUS has its work cut out for it, but it won't be easy.

Bill if you are getting that, can I be your friend all over again and get a ride in that as well?

I always though the F70 might be a little more organic than the predecessor, but I wouldn't have imagined that. I guess Pininfarina had a hand in the design.

Ztunelover, how do you from a 6.2 liter V12 weighing 10 pounds HEAVIER than a twin turbo 5.6 liter V12?

    Turbo'ed engines are heavier. -

same reason why he thinks a turbocharged engine is going to make its peak torque at a high rpm... and at one specific RPM vs. a range.

Same reason why he said it is going to weigh 3187 pounds (or whatever the figure)...

Because its his guess... not fact... some peoples guesses aren't very accurate...

he probably thinks that because the engine on the turbo'd car is smaller (less displacement) it will weigh less but has probably never held a turbo in his hands. And actually internal displacement doesn't always mean that the outer dimensions are different

First of all NONE of those are the Enzo replacement. The silver/yellow photos are simply photoshops of an Enzo and pretty old to boot, and the beautiful red car is fro Pininfarina's design competition. The fact of the matter is that (and it's been this way since 03) nobody knows anything new. Everything is speculation.

Let's go back to that photoshoped Road&Track review page, Bill. I know you have a photo without the hand ;) . How did somebody manufacture this page?

This might be a stupid question but is that spec sheet a photoshop?

That looks like a Road and Track Road Test Summary page but I don't understand how it could be unless it was doctored.

Because it was under the assumption that the block would be more compact than the 6.2liter unit. That both the Bore and Stroke would of smaller sizes allowing for a smaller lighter block, even when fatter sleeves are factored in. And then the twin turbos with all their plumbing, and the turbos themselves add back almost all the weight originally lost by going to a smaller engine.

What would have been your guess? I also made it slightly heavier than an enzo making the assumption a KERS system would be used, and that like I said would not be the dry weight of the car by my assumption.

The torque numbers is where I said it is going to peak. Just because I didn't bother to try and guesstimate where its 85% zone would range from doesnt mean it doesn't exist.

A purpose built engine can be lighter to the same weight. The Nissan VRH35DETT is Lighter than the VK45DE, One is a turbo, other is N/A, Have a good guess which one is which, and both were purpose built for the GT1 class.

Turbos can get heavy, but have you bothered to try out some of the newer small frames? They really aren't that heavy. And I am fairly certain the turbos in there are not gonna be T-88, GT47-88, T-51R sized. Those are heavy for sure. But a couple of the newer spec gt2530 sized turbos are really not that heavy.

to me even a measily t3/4 is heavy... but thats just my opinon.

Funny you didn't bother trying to guesstimate where its "85%" zone would be even thought you guessed just about every other dimension weight and output of the car. Anyways, its really not a big deal. Lets not turn this into something ugly. This is just a "for fun" thread... because as we have all learned... Ferrari always throws something at us we weren't expecting. The good news is whatever the performance of the car... there base road cars usually catch up with in like 4 years! So let the first guys spend the million dollars and let the rest of us pick it up for 200-300k in 5 years.

I am not sure if the prices are going to be over 1 million... the enzo was fairly inexpensive when it was launched

@Bill S, could you maybe scan that spec sheet and just photoshop black over that private stuff so we can read the numbers better please?

Thought this might be useful, I went and found the road and track data sheet for the enzo for comparison:

Thank you for finding this. I couldn't. It's a good job, but needless to say, it's total BS. The Enzo telemetry is the same. This is the only thing I was looking for. So. Case closed. :)

How difficult is it to get on the invite list, is it a matter of mindlessly purchasing cars from Ferrari till you meet there quota or could you by-pass that by just showing them your bank balance and letting them know you mean business?

I know a couple of people (too busy to get hold of to ask) who were invited to purchase the Enzo, one bought alot of Ferraris, the other diddn't but is a 'celebrity' in some terms which I presume quallified him?
