Are you talking about the F8 Spider or something else?

  2. I am not sure I really understand the fascination or, really, myopic interest in whether the powers-that-be in Maranello will produce a "special" version of the F8.

If you're in the group of potential buyers that have to ask that question on a board like this, chances are you're most likely not first in line to get the F8 "speciale" when/if it comes out.

If you're in the group of potential buyers that don't need to ask that question on a board like this -- because you are well connected enough to know the real answer -- then it doesn't really matter because you've already decided whether you want the car or not.

Let's just move on. More productive to speculate on next week's winning lottery numbers methinks.

because if people did not speculate on what is next out of maranello and what might happen...well there would be not much else to say on a board like this. ..as those type of posts occupy about half the posts on a board like this.

The other 48% is on depreciation.

'depreciation' which in turn is caused by a 'new model' that may or may not show up...

The ‘black ‘collar’ at the end he of the front bonnet is an interesting option which might work well if you are opting for a black roof, esp in a coupe. Creates a nice two tone look flowing from the front to the rear.

  10. And the other 2% is devoted to bashing McLarens, Lambos, and Porsches.

    Nice pictures.
    It looks like CdF paintwork.

Got a question for those who are specifying Homelink and full-electric seats.

I was told that the full-electric seats no longer include Homelink and Chromatic Mirrors.

If so, Ferrari Is making more profit on the options since the cost of the full-electric seats hasn’t been reduced to reflect the loss of these two previously included options.

They are absolute masters of the upgrade/options play book and can shred through your cash faster than a Vegas casino.

Is that a compliment, a complaint, or simple statement of fact? Have you ever optioned a Merc, Toyota, or Lexus - they are all pretty good at the nick game if you ask me. Can’t make much money giving stuff away when you only build 10-12 thousand cars. I harbor no resentment. When the brand can’t sell those upgrades, the pricing will change.

Not really. I’m just surprised how much whining there is about Ferrari making a profit. Don’t be so serious. This is just talk.

I believe they are both options. I did not spec either for my car. I don’t want to make adjusting the seat easy for someone else. My ass is the only one going to be in the drivers seat.
As far as homelink- I did not spec it either as on my 488 I could never get the garage door to work properly. Skipped both these options for my Pista.

I believe for the F8, if you spec either home-link or auto dimming mirror, you get both. At least thats what my salesman told me.....

Yes, that's correct. They go hand in hand for a whopping $3037!

By the way, Ferrari's Homelink system is old so to make it work with some garage openers you need to use a Homelink Repeater system . I learned after I installed new openers which would not work with my older Mercedes or any of the Ferraris.

Here is a repeater usually under $30, my installer gave them to me at no charge.

Here is a UTUBE video and you can clearly see in it the discoloration I'm talking about. It looks really ugly in person. I wish they would have a regular windshield option for the F8.

Get a spider, or a Pista, or put a Pista engine bonnet on it. Or forget about it and look for another car....

I have succeeded in getting Homelink to work. It’s a weird process for the rolling code. You must first pair your garage remote control, to the Homelink inside your car. Of course the Homelink button doesn’t work. That is actually correct! You are now at the halfway point. Then you activate the learn button on your garage door opener. Then you get back in your car and push the Homelink button a couple of times until it operates the garage door. It is a weird process where you get no positive feedback until the last step. Horrible instructions from Homelink and horrible interface. They should have more dedicated buttons and/or better written instructions.
