It is referred to as an insert. Not a solid piece. My dealer and I both thought the hood looked better without it and in the event you decide later to have it, wrapping it would be simple.

Pista has it and was not an option, the 812 has it as well.. not sure if it is an option or not on the SF. Seems like a carryover design feature on the current cars.

I wonder to what extent the s-duct flow causes debris to hit the insert on the Pista and F8. For the 812, the hood is giant so maybe that was more design specific.

The "BLACK " should have been a part , NOT paint and then it would have been a part of the design. The indentation height looks like a thicker piece was going in there.

True but also could be ordered without it and just body colour. There is a car here Spider without it , actually also no stripe. So I guess it was optional

Agree.. must be an aero thing. Maybe black matt to hide impact of road debris passing through s duct.

At the dealer here in Austin. Looks gorgeous in this color and is much better looking than the 488 IMO.

Whoever is lucky enough to get one enjoy it!!

If that area came standard in black, people would pay to have it painted body color, LOL.

At least Ferrari in this case are charging for additional work and material (added adhesive or paint) assuming the hood in both cases is the same and that area is already painted (body color) before the addition.

I really think the stripes look awesome what do others think? Do you think they are too much on a non vs car?

    .
Thinking about this yellow stripe on RC F8. It goes well with black wheels , not so much with silver forged ones.

Personally I think it looks good with the stripes, but then you run the risk of being a Pista “poser” lol

Leave the stripes on the Pista. My opinion.

The S duct bonnet rear slope needs to be emphasized to bring attention to this feature. Otherwise its "buried". I wouldn't be surprised if the stripes become an option in 1-2 years on the F8.

The stripes on the bottom front of the F8 actually look cleaner than the Pista which looks too busy with the black pieces on either side.
