Ferrari already makes the F8 Speciale. It is called the Pista.

But what IF Ferrari do actually make a F8 Speciale. Low numbers ?

They certainly don't care about the Pista buyers that will trade in their 488's at a lower price because of the F8 release.

Everything and anything is possible. F8 sales could slow down before the release of the new V6 car

If the lids are supplied by a third party they certainly could be coated. I highly doubt Ferrari would. But IMO they are just raw perspex

A three year model seems likely to earn both an F8 Speciale Coup and F8 Special Spider. And since last of seems to be popular then the Spider could be an LE - last, numbered, non assisted V8. Maybe a few more psi on the pressure and something unique from the next series (aero, brakes, electronics, steering, etc.).

Definitely questionable. I see a spider on the horizon and that's it.

Exactly. Ferrari either didn't give a stuff about 488 and Pista buyers or they didn't think it through very well. Either-way you certainly couldn't believe anything they tell you now.

Essentially Ferrari gave their 488 customers with Pista orders a double upper cut by dropping F8 out early. Most (myself inc) were anticipating a certain change over price which on all accounts looks like being significantly more than what was planned for due to F8. My guess is not all that have current Pista orders will be able to come up with the shortfall especially at Pista's high price point.

In our domestic market here in Australia as you know I just cant believe the pricing on the F8.

Yes our prices on cars is dearer due to the BS Luxury tax but here we have a an improved offering over the 488 and latest and the price increase was only 1 percent !

    488GTB $513,500
    F8 $520,000

You can imagine the 488 used prices will be lower.

Its a sad case really on that was not expected.

Ill be holding of the F8 until last orders can be placed 3 years time. Lets see what becomes of the used 488's.

Given by what Ferrari has done ill bet there is a Speciale F8.

488 base price in Europe is 192,000€
Equals 216,000 US Dollars or 301,000 Australian Dollars.

    F8 base price 192,000€

    all without taxes.

    Unlikely to happen.
The F8 - like the Huracan Evo - is a 'fill car' for the major changes in European emission and safety regulations, which will be mandatory from 2022 on.
These include features like new crash test standards, new safety belt standards, lane assist, camera and/or gps based intelligent speed limiters (!).
Also the F8 - like the Huracan Evo, Porsche 992 and R8 facelift is the first Ferrari to be equipped with a petrol particle filter system to pass through the new emission regulations, which will become even tighter from 2022 on. Reducing fleet emissions it the major reason for Ferraris announcement to have 60% of the models on hybrid systems by 2022.

Base price is not unchanged in Europe between 488 and F8, the difference is about 7%.

I honestly think that three years from now, people will be so over-the-top tired of this platform, that introducing yet another variant would be a major "eye-roll" to automotive enthusiasts galore.

Agreed but there will still be enough buyers for all of them as good graces for the next one.

Do people feel that the F8 is too similar to the Pista?

"feel" is the appropriate word - no fact there as I don't believe anyone has driven then back to back

I don't know how everyone feels about the differences but from my view essentially they look to be much the same car, with F8 having more updates/improvements inside in various whilst still enjoying the same hp/engine. So in that sense it could be fairly said F8 is the better buy for the money as it has the latest interior and exterior architecture.

I believe the ultimate tell all will be in a performance comparative and, whether Pista is found to hold enough of an advantage over F8 to justify the ticket...and its cred. Frankly it wouldn't surprise me if the performance difference was found to be very small which could create another problem for Pista in the sense the special series tag amounts basically to a few cosmetic differences.
