i dunno about desired, but its a small factory and this is one of the top brands in all of commerce, so the hordes of folks that would want to walk-thru the production facility would be overwhelming. I'm frankly expecting them to stop letting "all owners" visit eventually due to too much demand just from them.
I went on a tour years ago while I actually was an owner but I only owned a 308 and the dealer wouldn't set it up for me. Luckily I was going with a group and most of the group was owners and they were allowed to take guests. So I got to go as a guest of an owner even though I really was an owner. I doubt the games played in getting a tour or not haven't gotten better in the intervening years.
What auto brand is more desirable than Ferrari? I see people wear Ferrari shirts who don’t even own the brand. I have zero interest in seeing the factory but I find it interesting so many want to see it and love the automaker that much.
I registered both my cars with them and they still send me emails. I also have a current registration good until 2025 , just saying. I hate pretense more than ignorance. It wouldn't be a big deal if I don't get to see the factory.
I don't know if its a pretense, or just customer service. I think they are prioritizing current owners over past ownership. For me I've been as a "328" owner as well as a newer Ferrari. I dont think they care what car you own - just that you are a current owner. However if you do own an older car - not many of the tour guides will know about them ... they really only know the current models.
With so many existing owners (and 13,000+ new cars sold every year), the number of current owners must be huge, therefore it would make sense if the factory tour was limited to current owners.
Took the factory tour 2016. My wife and happened to be the only ones on the tour. Basically a private tour. The tour guide (young woman) spoke 4 languages, and her husband was an engineer in the racing dept. They gave us 2 Cavallinos cut out of leather.
