I see a lot of derogatory posts referencing Audi's ownership of Lamborghini by Ferrari owners and fans yet I never see those same fans and owners commenting in a negative way on Fiat's ownership of Ferrari.

I'm curious as to why that is. Audi is a world class car maker. Fiat is, well Fiat is Fiat.

It seems strange that Audi would be a rallying point for Lamborghini haters, especially with Fiat looming in the background of Ferrari.

Just my two cents. Here is an example.

I'm trying to come up with a funny caption for that picture but sadly words just can't do that image justice.

That is one of those pictures that fits under the heading of "a picture is worth a thousand words".

Thats because Ferrari owners have chosen to live with the consequences of the Fiat connection !

Well..ferrari engines do not use any internal parts from a fiat engine. All Ferrari engines are cast inhouse at the Ferrari factory. Ferrari does not use Fiat climate control systems in their cars. Ferrari hand sewen all the interiors in house. Ferrari with the help of Pinifarina designs the chassis inhouse..It is not a shared plateform form Fiat. Although the chassis are built off site at the pinni factory.

Ferrari is under the wing of Fiat, but its its own company run seperatly, with no influance from the Fiat head office, on the design of the cars.

Audi has full contol at Lambo..that is the differance.

Which reminds me - pretty much every casting on a Gallardo has four rings

Perfect example. Why the hate for Lamborghini?

If you love cars don't you love all cars not just Ferrari's?

I've read posts lamenting Lamborghini's being prone to break down yet those same posters never mention that some Ferrari's have reputations for being fragile.

I'll ask again, why the hate for Lamborghini from Ferrari fans/owners?

Aren't they essentially the same thing, fast and beautiful automobiles?

    And here's another hater.

My guess is that these haters had a traumatic experience at some point with someone that drove a Lamborghini.

Did you lose a race? Did your wife/girlfriend cheat on you with a guy that drove a Diablo?

This hate makes no sense unless you actually built Ferrari's for a living.

As a Lambo owner I think its great that Audi bought Lambo. If they didnt I think a great name would have died or turned into Jaguar :(

FIAT did a lot of good for Ferrari as well, if it wasnt for FIAT, we might have a Ferrari Pinto or some garbage like that

personally I am glad Lambo is owned by Audi....I think it like this...Jaguar has heavy Ford influence and guess what....it's a much more reliable easier car. Joke in the past about a Jag is you had to have two of them...one for driving and the other for parts. My experience with Lambos are they are sensative cars and need somewhat a lot of attention to them or they do break down....Same with Ferrari's. It' just like the Corvette guys verses the Viper guys...If Audi didn't step in, there may have not been a Murci....not a big fan of the G car...but anyways...deep pockets are good.

As a past owner of three Jag's Ford has destoyed this car. Cross platforming comes at a high cost. Financially it's a disaster too.

I would much prefer Lamborghini owned entirely by Italians like Ferrari. After all that's what makes them special to begin with, and as far as I know the Germans never produced anything exotic.

Ford was the best thing that ever happened to Jaguar, their build quality has been among the industry leaders. Far above that of Mercedes & BMW.

I don't know, I just sold a 2003 XJR that I bought new. For a $76,000 car it sure had its problems. The Mercedes I owned before it was NEVER in the shop. Jaguar was there at least once a month. Ford has ruined the new XJ IMHO.

Who cares who owns Lambo, they are still great cars!!

Dood, you asked for an answer. Someone gave you a very valid answer, and someone else agreed. When I saw the one guy's response, I thought "Owned" as well because his answer was very well thought out.

What I hear from most of the 'anti audi' camp is that Audi tamed Lambo. Clarkson said the same on top gear. That anyone could shift a Murci with a single finger and the clutch was super friendly compared to the Diablo, which from what I hear, takes some effort.

The anti audi camp also isn't a fan of a soon to be released Audi having a Gallardo engine in it.

Like the one guy said, Fiat leaves Ferrari alone to do what they want as long as they deliver the goods. Audi is actually influencing Lambo and that is the problem. They don't hate Lambo necessarily, well some might, but they hate what Audi is doing to Lambo.

Oh and see my name? see my profile? I love my Murcielago and I understand why some would not (they are crazy :) )

Fiat are only shareholders in Ferrari, VAG OWN Lamborghini. I've heard more Ferrari/Fiat comments from Lambo owners than VAG/lambo comments from Ferrari owners

and before you even think of labelling me as a lambo hater I've owned a couple and will no doubt own a few more at some stage, they're great cars and will no doubt get better and better as German build and engineering standards get absorbed into the factory

Why does that comment not come as a surprise to me. You are completely wrong on that count. The documented quality is terrible not to mention the bland styling, a Taurus with a different grill on the S class.

DOOD, the poster I was quoting my my post didn't say anything, all he did was quote someone else and post a picture. Thank you for your valuable post though, dood.

My essential point in this thread is that I don't understand the hate, and please don't pretend there isn't hate from certain Ferrari fans/owners.

If it's not the Audi ownership it's the tractor history that haters key in on.

I don't understand it, they're both fast and beautiful cars. I don't see why some people like one car yet hate the other.

Close your eyes while driving an Audi 4wd sedan and you can easily imagine its a Gallardo, the G drives like an Audi and has an interior like one as well, too refined to be an exotic and Audified.

Lambos have serious Audi DNA in them now and their car design philosopy, Ferrari and Fiats relationship is totally different. Look under a Murcis ashtray it has 4 rings molded in is the perfect example.

I HATE what Audi is doing to Lambo...yet at the same time I LOVE it. I hate that they are making them tame, easy to drive cars.....ITS ITALIAN POWER! At the same time Audi is making the best cars of Lamborghini now. The Gallardo SE, the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. Audi ownership comes with its ups and downs...no hating at all.

P.S. this comes from a Lamborghini Enthusiast
