OK Boys and Girls I am here to announce I have formed a great Charity Event FERRARI FEST/DREAMCARS an Event for Charity Saturday MAY 6 at the beautiful South Carolina State Museum in Columbia SC . Like most of you, one of my biggest thrills in Ferrari ownership is sharing the passion and beauty of these great cars with young children and others .I wanted to be able to showcase these great machines and help those less fortunate who are battling life threatening illnesses. I have partnered with the Make A Wish Foundation and Family Connections of SC who both do a tremendous job helping children and their families dealing with these terrible diseases. Here is how the event will take place. Ferrari/Lambo/Porshe/Viper ( $ 25.00 entry fee per car--donated to charity of course ) will park in a dedicated area of the Museums parking lot front and center. The children and their families will come down and have their pictures made free of charge sitting in the cars and talk to the car owners.I had hoped to be able to take these kids for a short ride around the block but liability insurance issues have cancelled that for now but I am going to keep working to make that happen for the 2007 event. The general public will be allowed in 1 hour later to view and ( cont. )

cont. and also be able to view and sit in the cars ( $ 10.00 donation to charity ) for a photograph. The event will be advertised locally on several Television and Radio stations so I am hoping for a nice crowd of car lovers. The great thing about the State Museum is they have given me permission ( I had to promise all of them drives and rides in my 360 ) to move the cars and the event to their enclosed parking garage in case of rain so we are very lucky there. The times are 9 am-3pm and I an be flexable if anyone needs to leave early etc.Any out of towners can also park in the Museums garage the nite before ( lots of hotels and nitelife nearby ) and I will make sure we have security . With Bob Snows permission I will email an invite to all you Cafe guys as soon as its ready.David Scott is helping me with some of the invites for the SC guys and others.I am asking for volunteers now to make sure David does not try to stage a Challenge Race or something in the parking lot during the event as we all know his need for speed and fondness for the law enforcement guys. All is set for a great day of beautiful cars and helping those who need it most. Pass the word. I hope you guys help me make this a memorable event. My email is [email protected] Buddy Delaney

Buddy, this is the greatest idea I have heard since becoming a Ferrari owner! I believe that we often forget how lucky we are to be able to experience these wonderful machines. Helping others who are less fortunate would make the ownership experience so much more meaningful for me. Thanks for all your hard work in putting this event together. Count me in!

Feel free to PM me if you need my help in organizing or running the event. I'd be happy to schedule time to volunteer.

    Buddy,
David Scott shared some of the details w/ me the other evening. Debi & I looked forward to participating and would love to offer a helping hand. Just let me know what you need.

I also spent some time w/ Kevin Fielden yesterday and we should have a good contingent to travel down to the event.

If you're going to have other profile rides on display as well, might I suggest inviting Bob Saville and some of his Porsche gang. Check out his site at www.exclusive-motors.com.

    Buddy -- WONDERFUL!!!

I'd like to get this on the FCA website and calendar. If you can put it into a summarized format like those on www.fca-se.com/upcoming.htm I can also submit it for the FCA NewsBulletin. Either PM me or email it to me at mcharness {@} comcast {dot} net.

Thanks, and thanks for putting this event together.

They have a Nice 348 on hand right now as well..... Doug. I was riding down Independence the other day(after karting) and saw it. I then went to their website and saw the pictures/info. I hope they get more F cars in!!! They seem to be very knowledgeable.

PS I might meet up with you guys or Jay(skiguy) to caravan down.

    Buddy,
Sounds like a great event, and we would love to attend. Would need to bring our four-legger as well cause she's the star of the family and gets jealous when the italian comes first. Seems like a great cause.

Great idea, Buddy, and I'm sure the execution will be equally great.

Count Susie and I in. We'll probably bring the Lamborghini as that was always my fantasy car as a kid. If Susie wants to drive, too, then maybe we'll bring two.

We'll probably come up the night before, so if you need any help with setting up, etc. let us know.

Perhaps FoA, Foreign Cars Italia or SportAuto might like to send cars or door prizes or something since SC is kind of a stepchild in the region.

    Who's hosting the after-party/after-drive?? :)

We'll leave Hudson (our German Shepherd) at home so that Bob's buddy doesn't end up an hors d'oeuvre. Man, that color of rosso sure is gorgeous. Is that Rosso Fiorano or Rosso Rubino?

Hey Mike - I didn't mean the FCA didn't treat us well - just that we don't have any major corporate presence/dealers here besides European Road and Racing. Let's see the dealers try to draw some new buyers out of SC!

I just passed the word on to a Countach, a Miura, a Murcielago Roadster/Gallardo and a Gallardo owner. Hopefully they'll attend. Sounds like a great idea. I also posted it on L-P, hope that was OK.

Eric Yes the Porsche is welcome. Mike and Charles the Door prize/Gifts are a good idea and I will call Lawrence @ FCI and Possibly Ed W. @ FOA for some help. We have 11 Ferrari's so far and of course Charles Lamborghini along with 6-8 Porsche and a couple of Viper's . Not bad for less than 1 week and I will hear back from several others who have left messages soon. We will have room for about 40 cars so ther is room as others as more find out about the event. I will email sign up info to everyone next week Buddy

The CT owner can't do it, but would love to. The G owner and the Murcielago Roadster owner are interested if they are in the state at that time (both live elsewhere).
