So what happened here? I also didn’t see hoards of spectators in these pictures.

FWIW, the Lamborghini Festival was WAY down too.....of course a big factor there was they were charging $2,300 to show a car. So all they ended up with were Audi era cars with bad wraps advertising for some business or product.

Oof, $2300 to show a car... that's just awful. I don't know the economics of shows/festivals/whatever, but I'm not paying to show a car. The car is the attraction, isn't it, and don't you usually pay for the "talent" or at least attempt to attract it somehow? At least in Houston, there are plenty of great shows/get-togethers/whatever one can just roll up to.

EDIT: I see it was $350 to register for this show. Not terrible, and it goes to charity, so... I dunno. Clearly I have no idea what I'm talking about or something, as usual.

Yes, $350 to Houston Children's Hospital. Not a big deal deal I thought. And I can confirm am I one of the poorest Ferrari owners in Houston. The amount of $$$$$$$ of cars there was unreal.

The turn out was good, most pictures were taken before the show opened to the public.

there were tons of spectators - TONS.
and it was only $350 to enter. but you had to be accepted - mind you, the criteria does not seem too stringent.

That is true, there were a ton of spectators.

Just to be clear, because I think my comments may be all over the place, I thought it was a great event and I plan to register next year because I think any Ferrari event needs a 308. I would personally have liked more vintage stuff, but that's just my preference in automobiles.

i tend to agree with you.
if it were up to me, there would only be one example of every model willing to come.
and certainly a limit on the newest cars....frankly just how many 458, 488, f8, pistas, speciales do you need in one show !!
but what must be remembered is that the major sponsor was FOH, which means it is their party, which means awards only went to FOH customers, which means only cars bought in the last year or so could actually qualify......infer from that whatever you like...;)

THAT was definitely the problem with the lamborghini festival. at that show, there were about 6 different lambos, and 1458 huracans...... :)

Surely that's not why the 2022 SF90 Spider won the mid-engine category...

"Guess the voting machines came from Dominion."
Best comment I overhead when they started announcing the "winners"

I also find it surprising that the car that gathered the most votes EVER in the history of FF was the silver/yellow SP1. Somehow I doubt the general public voted that way....

How many times will a La Ferrari win the supercar class....esp. when there are two F40's, an F50, and an Enzo sitting right there.

I've said it ever since I've been going, the classes need to be broken down either by year range or model. You've got 20 plus year-old 360's, 355's, 348's, 3x8's competing with new F8's and SF90's in the mid V8 class while TR's are battling it out with 812's and F12's. Not sure where the Cali's fall into place since I don't recall a front V8 category......

yes...but i need to correct you....the winner of the people's choice award that was touted as having received the most votes ever....was the orange F8.....while it is a very nice car, one of 4 f8's i counted at the show.....but i simply cannot imagine that such an overwhelming number of people decided it was their number 1 choice, given the alternatives at the show.....but then again, the owner apparently bought it recently from FOH and spent money elsewhere to boot.....
    dominion voting machines.....agreed :)

That's funny. My casual analysis was that the F40s held most of the attention for the show. There was always a crowd around them, which I didn't really see elsewhere. In any case, I don't really know how anyone rationally compares an F40 to an F8, they're really just not comparable in a meaningful way to me.
