which red is that @FerRrari? Looks great.. fingers crossed something simple..
Got a text from the shop this morning. They’ll need to rebuild the transmission. @71veedub it’s Rosso Maranello. There’s currently one up for sale in a very similar spec on BaT.
Yeah you responded to a comment of mine on that auction I think.. the photo of yours looks like a completely different color than the BaT one! Your photo looks like a dark red, approaching maroon (great IMO, despite my leaning strongly dark blue), while BaT is almost orange.. Sorry to hear about the trans rebuild. What's the mileage on your car, and how many are yours?
Rosso Maranello is a triple layer paint so it changes based on the light. It’s a stunning color in person, pthotographs don’t do it justice. I initially thought I wanted a TdF Blu FF but after seeing Rosso Maranello I changed my mind. Just shy of 32K miles. I’m the 3rd and 5th owner of the car so not sure how many of those are mine but I’d say between 10 and 15K. Thank you for all the photos Fernando! And there must be a story there being 3rd and 5th owner! How long after the sale did you know it was a mistake, and how long did it take to get her back? Probably not dark enough for me, but hopefully get to see one in that color someday. I have a TdF 550, but really prefer darker.. I painted a 512TR blu pozzi, and my brother-in-law's FF is the similar nuovo blu pozzi. I would really like to see blu America, though I guess they are so rare there's little chance of finding one with everything else I'd want. Is there a fix for the trans problems like there is for the PTU? Crazy at only 32k mi.. best wishes on getting it back quickly.
Yeah there are updated seals and sensors. It’s a fairly common problem, probably more common than the PTU but somehow it’s less talked about. it took me about a month to regret the sale and 2 years to get her back. Luckily the car stayed local and my broker contacted me once it was about to become for sale. Blu America looks nice. The one FF I saw in this color desperately needed a paint correction so sadly couldn’t appreciate it at its fullest. Couple pictures so dropping my question here. Evidently I'm not smart enough to install the rear deck so the hatch closes. I put it in with the flat edge forward and the notched corners at the rear so they fit the hatch/window (reversing this doesn't seem to work at all). Then click it up in the track but the hatch won't close. The seats are latched in place. Any tips would be appreciated, plus a tip on how to use the bottom track. Looks like it's in correctly, if flipped over I can't get to the latch mechanism on the passenger side of the deck. It has some play and isn't super tight. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It’s very easy to misalign the pins circled in yellow. Ensure that they’re in the correct holes rather than just resting in the gap between the tailgate trim and the window glass. Image Unavailable, Please Login
All lined up correctly. The latch mechanism is pretty loose and the shelf can wiggle around so I added a vacuum line cap to take up space, it helped but it's still fairly loose, and it still doesn't close. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I owned a Lotus Elite II ( the Elite was a two seater much smaller) My FF is black, my Lotus was white. It carried four people as comfortably as the FF, but the back seats unfortunately did not fold down, so the trunk was not nearly as useful as the FF can be. The handling was great fun. The cruising speed was excellent. The 2000 cc four cylinder engine had four valves per cylinder which was unusual for 1975. The 0-60 was nothing to write home about today, but few cars were during the fuel crisis. The FF is much more comfortable, easier to get in and out, not as low, much quicker to go and stop. The FF has a higher top speed, and so many more safety features. Oh, and FF has four wheel drive, although the Lotus handled extremely well in snow. Just as the FF is my daily driver, so was the Lotus year round. I think I paid $7,300 for it then, which with inflation since then would have been $35,000 today. Or I could have put $ 7,300 in the stock market and it would be worth $2.1 million today. Or I could have bought the right Ferarri then and it would be worth $20 million today. I sold the Lotus in 1986 for $5,000. But have a lot of memories.
Forgot I had taken this, from a week or so ago. Running errands. Getting ready to replace the battery, oil, and flush the brake fluid. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was just looking at the stitching-it looks very new. Mine is alcantara, not leather and I wonder if yours was re-done and possibly became oversized in the process?
Could be and I don't have any records saying it was repaired or replaced. Next time at a dealer I'll ask them but could be a while, which is fine.

Wife and I went to a friend’s place for their Christmas Eve celebration. Took their son (he’s in college) for a drive around their neighborhood. Good to share the fun. Drive back… gotta love traffic and salted roads. All good, easy to clean up. Fun to get the FF out. Image Unavailable, Please Login
