    Ferrari Fly-in UPDATE

I’ve had quite a good response with regards the numbers attending the meet on Sunday. There’s a nice mixture of car attending so we should all have the opportunity to check out a few interesting rides.

There’s OS directions map here: http://www.diamondair.co.uk/osmap.jpg
and a layout of the parking at Gamston here: http://www.diamondair.co.uk/onsitemap.jpg

Parking 2 has been reserved for the regional FOC.

Parking 1 is for F-Chat and others.

There is an overspill car-park toward the end of the parking bays if need be.

When you arrive someone will hand you a ‘Free Flight’ coupon which you need to hand in to the pilot of the aircraft that you’ll go in.

You’ll need to go upstairs into the coffee shop to let one of us know that you’re here and we can put your name down for an aircraft and a rough time.

We’ll have aircraft available from 10.30am onwards so get in early to make sure you’ll get the chance to fly. If 20 people turn up at 1.00pm then some people are going to have to wait a little while. Please bear with us as we have a potential 70 seats to get up in the air!!! Likewise, if you all turn up at 10.30am then some people will have to wait.

Because of the amount of people wanting flights we may have to split a few groups up. We can’t afford to loose a seat every flight because people really want to go together, If that’s the case then we can put you down for the next available slot where you can be together but again, you may have to wait a little and there’s no guarantees. There is also the weight factors to consider. We can’t have 4 tubbies in an aircraft otherwise it won’t be a flight, it’ll be a drive!

The helicopter guys will be making flights from 1pm and 2pm and also after 5pm. These aircraft are 2 seaters so you’re up on you’re own with the pilot. Flights last about 10 mins but they’re excellent and well worth it! I think they’re about £25 but we’ll find out on the day. I’ve got in early with my girlfriend so don’t delay as these slots will fill up fast.

The weather is forecast Sunny spells with a 20% chance of rain to the North East (US!!!), South East is thundery rain and the West from Scotland to the South Coast is Dry with sunny spells. - On many occasions forecasts aren’t perfect but we’ll have a better idea on Saturday. Regardless we’ll be here. If you want to phone up on the day you can call the coffee shop on 01777 839400 and someone will let you know what’s happening.

Please could you remember what the nature of the day is. I know a lot of you guys are coming down for a pleasure flight but please return the favor to the pilots of the aircraft that will be flying you. Some of these machines are quite expensive and cost a hell of a lot more per hour that our lowly Ferrari’s (maybe Simons Murci is an exception!!!) So please give them a blast round because they’ll hunt you down on their breaks!!! It would be nice for you to stay a little while rather than shooting off straight after your flight. It will give us all a change to see all the car that you'll be bringing.

To top this off I’ll buy you some snap!
We’ll give you a food token which you can redeem at any point in the day which will entitle you to a Bacon Sandwich or a Sausage Sandwich and a nice cup of tea or coffee to wash it down with!

    Polite warnings!
Remember guys, you’re at an active airfield. We don’t have a massive amount of movements a day but there will be others using the airport. Please don’t go wandering around air-side as you will be shot. Well, you’ll be asked to move at least! We’ll have someone in our hangar to help get you to and from the aircraft and I don’t mind if you want to stay in the hangar to see the aircraft landing and taking off but please don’t touch any of the aircraft in the hangars. I’m sure we all have enough common sense not to create a problem so let’s have a blast and enjoy ourselves!

Come rain or shine we’ll be at Gamston but heavy winds and low clouds will cause flight delays. The pilot of the aircraft is in charge at all times and his decision is final. If he doesn’t feel safe at any point he will not make the flight. We believe in safety first!

Let’s have a good day and if you want to buy any of the aircraft, cash or cheques are fine! ;)

Is there any chance a mod to sticky this post?

I don't want any of the people who are attending to miss it.

    Thanks

We've already got the main thread stickied which contains this same information.

I don't think we need to sticky this one too, indeed I was wondering why we needed a separate thread for it?
