From the FCA/NER: Very sad news today. Our dear friend Andrew Caputo has lost his wife Allyson after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the driving force in founding and running, along with Andy, ERRACE, (Everyone Ride Run Against Cancer Everyday) to benefit the LIVESTRONG Foundation and Hartford Hospital's Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center in Avon. Andrew and their sons Vincent and Anthony are respecting Allyson's wishes and have requested that members of the FCA any fellow tifosi assemble at Carmen Funeral Home, 301 Country Club Road, Avon, CT 06001 this Thursday morning (10/25) at 9:30 AM with their Ferraris (or other sports cars) and accompany the funeral procession from Avon to the St. Joseph's Church, 99 Jackson Street, Willimantic. Stanley Cohen will be leading the procession in his Enzo, and many of us will be there - if you can join us, we'd appreciate it. A reception will be held after the funeral from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the REFECTORY at Avon Old Farms School, 500 Old Farms Road, Avon, CT 06001. The Avon Old Farms School was designed by Theodate Pope Riddle who also planned the exquisite landscaping on the school grounds and on Old Farms Road as well and the plantings designated by Ms. Riddle are spectacular at this time of the year as Old Farms Road is a sea of pink from the north end of the school property to the school entrance. After the reception at the REFECTORY, Andy has invited everyone back to his house in Avon to further celebrate the life of his wife Allyson. Protected parking will be provided for our sport cars at Carmen's, the Church and at Avon Old Farms School. Please respond if you'll be able to make it tomorrow (Thursday) morning. Thanks!
Dennis, Very sad news indeed. I had the pleasure of meeting Allyson. She was very kind, gracious and had a wonderful spirit. Deepest sympathies to her family and friends. I have a commitment for tomorrow but will try my very best to rearrange my schedule to attend with Ferrari. I can not think of a better way to celebrate a life well lived. Thank you for posting. Ed
