Rod, nice house. I don't see why you couldn't host an event. Husker Bill did one up in Madison last year which was a great event. It was open to all exotic cars and he had maybe 50 cars show up. I'm not sure who a good contact up in Wisc is since Bill moved to Ca. but we have Andreas as our lead here in the Windy City.

Is Husker Bill around? If he is I would like to talk to him. I'd like to see what he did and how he did it.

Same here, will be in Monterey the third weekend of Aug. Husker Bill uses the Northern Calif thread these days, give him a call and he should be able to help. He did a fantastic show with a great turn out, but don't tell him I said so. LOL

If I don't make it to Pebble Beach in August, I'd be interested....

not sure if the 308 constitutes a "high end exotic", but it sounds like fun!

Hi Rodney, give me a call when you have time and we can start working on an event.

My phone number is the same.

If you'd like to become a member of the FOC, we could work with you.

Wish I had never sold my Mera. I've tried to buy it back a couple of times, but the owner won't sell!

I think the 'Replica Haters' would be impressed with both of our cars.

Have you had much chance to drive the 348 yet?

Here's a site you might enjoy. if you haven't already found it.

Going to the Hungarian GP in August, sorry.

You could probably find Huskerbill on FChat in the Calif section. That's where he moved.

The Madison show is going to happen again. I am trying to talk to the person who is in charge. It is posted in the Ferrari newsletter if you get it. I will post more info as I get it. I am going to call Mike from Fox Valley and try to make it big this year.

I've had a few emails on doing a get together at my house this summer. In my opinion I would like it to be a get together. Other cars would be welcome. Lambo, NSX etc. It would be an afternoon thing. I could supply soft drinks and water and probably finger food. Any one have any suggestions on what they would like to see? Be realistic. I can take the 3 cars out of my attached garage and set up tables and chairs. It would basically be a get together to talk and look at others rides. I also have the covered patio next to the pool to hang out at.

    Hey Kevin,
I am now over at the new Lambo Chicago store; we opened a few weeks ago. Shoot me a pm about the Madison show...sounds cool.

    Mera,
It shouldn't be too hard to organize a get together. My dad and I did a few of our own for our car and motrcycles friends, and it seemed like everyone had a great time. The tables and chairs were set up in the garage. We had about 30+ cars and about 50+ motorcyles show up throughout the day. The cars just parked on the grass, and the bikes on the driveway so the kickstands wouldn't sink. We had a great time getting everyone together as well. The hardest part, as someone mentioned, was picking a date that does not over lap other events. IIRC, we did them on the last Sunday in August. That date seemed to work out well for most. Good luck with your get together and let me know if you need any pointers. Here are a few pix.

And Mike E's annual party, and Jan & Inger's.

Unfortunately, Jan & Inger didn't have it last year, and it looks like it won't happen again.

They had the party for about 6 or 7 years in a row.

Anyhow, to do it right will take a lot of work......and some money.

How much did you pay for the food? From a local caterer? I would consider doing this also. No fuss on my part. How did you determine how much food to get? How many people do you think showed up? More or less than you expected? How many hours did you have it total that day. What time to what time? What day of the week? Saturday or Sunday.

    Hey Rodney,
We had it catered by an Italian resturant, appropriate since most of the cars and motorcycles were Italian (and British...but who really likes English food?) We held it on a Sunday from about 11AM til early evening. That way people could stop any time during the day, and you didn't have everybody trying to eat at one time. A catering company can tell you how much food to get; they are usually pretty accurate. I would say the key would be to have guests RSVP so at least you have a ballapark idea of how many people are coming.

Rodney - I would also be interested. I am in Racine; in Wind Point. I know exactly where you live; It's only a few minutes from my place. I have a just-restored Dino. Let us know the details later.

The show is on! After seeing the post from Michael RPM I have no fear of doing this show. We need to look at setting a date. I would like to see late August. Maybe Sunday Sept. 9th. We can look at August 11 and 18. August 25th may be out as some have said they will be at Pebble Beach. Let me know what is good for everyone.

Rodney - You mentioned that August 25 may not work because of Pebble Beach. Actually the PB Concours is August 19, and since most people return home the next day, the 25th would probably be ok for these people. Just a thought.
