Ferrari get new Indian sponsors Eurosport - Wed, 17 Dec 13:52:00 2008 Ferrari have bucked the global economic crisis squeezing Formula One by agreeing a sponsorship deal with Indian carmaker Tata. "For the first time an Indian brand will appear on the Ferrari," president Luca di Montezemolo said. "It's historic." A Ferrari spokesman confirmed a deal had been reached and said the details and duration would be announced shortly. Tata and Ferrari's parent company Fiat have a joint venture in the Indian state of Maharashtra to produce cars. Formula One approved a package of cost-cutting measures last week to help the sport after the economic crisis led to Honda's withdrawal.
He's not a bad driver at all. As a tester for williams he was pulling times right on par with everyone else. His 1 year on the f1 grid sucked because he had poor equipment. Interesting combo for sure.

Welcome to the new world, where European and North American grand prix races are going away and the formerly third world countries have disposable cash. Hopefully the deal was sealed before the latest unpleasantness in the financial world. Taz Terry Phillips
+1 Business is business, and money is money. I don't think Enzo ever mentioned anything about avoiding any out-of-country sponsors. The point is that Tata, and various other Chinese, Indian, and Russian sponsors did not exist in Enzo's days. If they had, I'm sure he would have done business with them also.
Rest assured, Ferrari's new and improved pit strategy will be in place for Singapore! Image Unavailable, Please Login
OMFG. Maybe they can get the elephant to inhale the fuel into its trunk and then force inject it into the fuel inlet on the car.
Is this the first time another car maker has advertised on a car they aren't directly connected too? I realize the Jag's were using Cosworth/Ford engines, but are there any examples like this?
