Last weekend 15 UK based GTE drivers (mostly with co-drivers) packed up their cars and headed for the Cotswolds area of England. We visited Bob Houghton's workshop, The Classic Motor Hub and Caffeine and the Machine We had some good drives on rural roads, met old friends and made new ones. All the GTEs that set out for the event came back under their own power and on their own wheels. Here are my pictures of the event in roughly chronological order. great event as I see a lot of LHD GTE´s. you know perhaps how many LHD and how many RHD cars have joined? how many serie 1,2 and 3? for sure a great event and as I see without rain
As I remember: 2 of the GTE's are actually 330 Americas (LHD) I think there were maybe 4 S3 GTE (including the prototype for the S3, which apparently is based on an S1 chassis). I am not sure of the S1/S2 split for the balance. I think maybe 5/15 RHD cars? Other attendees will hopefully be able to give you more accurate figures.
I think we had 6 RHD cars in total on the day - but only 5 at Classic Motor Hub Of those only one was a Series 3 car Of the others 8 LHD cars, there were maybe 3 Series 3
Quite compact. The event was based around the pretty Cotswold town of Broadway. We stayed two nights but most attendees just stayed for one. We met at Bob Houghton’s on Saturday morning then a buffet lunch at Classic Motor Hub then back to Broadway and a dinner on the Saturday night. Caffeine and the Machine was on Sunday morning. Suzie and Jason came up with good routes between venues on lovely country roads. Around 30-40 minutes each. For me, it was about 170 miles on the Friday and the Sunday getting too and from the area. Fortunately, the GTE is very good at sitting on a motorway at speed.
Yes - we organized this a while ago - a belated celebration of 60 years of the GTE. Can’t wait to see the video we’re having done
Fantastic! I love to see these cars being enjoyed and appreciated. One of my favorite Ferraris, and still sort of an attainable dream car...hoping it will stay that way,
hope you will post this video somewhere that we all may participate from this event. gradulation for the organisation
never heard about such a prototype I thaught after the serie 3 there just came the 330 with the body from the serie 3
It was gorgeous! Great cars, great organisation and great people. Well done, Suzie! If you wantbto see it for yourself I attached a kink to a youtube video! https://youtube.com/shorts/eaMR60cwCEo?feature=share
Sorry for the misspelling… It should read „If you want to see it for yourself I attached a link to a youtube video!“ Small phones and big fingers are not always an advantage… It seems after someone liked it I am not able to change it anymore!
Bob Houghton was a treat but we were asked not to post photos. If you are ever near them - visit them!!!
Dear Romano, yes, I have been there but without my car. My car got MOT last week monday and will be registered next week after getting all papers from the german TÜV. Drove 600km up to now but on dealer plates. Next time…. Cheers Christopher
I know he enjoyed showing you and Martin how you can have fun driving a GTE....and I also know he enjoyed having beers with you.....
Wow, what a fantastic looking trip. Thanks for posting. I had some family holidays in Broadway back in the 80s. Beautiful part of the UK.
