More and more I read on this board about the "ugliness" of recent Ferraris (612, 599), and then I read how everybody loves some modernized classics such as the Ford GT and Lamborghini Miura. Even Ferrari is known for using bits and pieces of their older models to "keep the spirit alive" in modern designs, but Ferrari hasn't and hopefully won't ever produce a completely modernized Ferrari.

But I did ! I didn't mean to, honestly, but all the sudden the clock was really alot in the night and I had a funny 250GTO/430 challenge mutation on my computer screen.

I think it turned out actually really great, I know some purists will propably hunt med down and do stuff to me that makes me cry, but taking that risk, I will share the picture.

I would personally vote for a small displacement high revving V12 with either a manual or true seqential gear box (race car/bike alike) The car could be smaller and lighter in size so no massive HP numbers would be needed. But a huge smile on drivers face would be granted !

What do you think, should Ferrari do something like this or not ? If yes, what kind of powertrain would you like to see in it ? Fantasise and tell me your thoughts !

To me Ferrari has prodcued modern versions of classics which I think is a great thing

The Maranello is very much a modern Daytona

    while the 360 was a modern 250LM

the TRs were just modern BBs

I'd really like to see a modern Pontoon TR :)

Hate to say it but it looks a lot like my old Datsun 240Z when I had an airdam and headlamp covers on it back in high school.

Did you know Datsun (Nissan) designed the 240Z with the exact same windshield angle as the 250GTO and I also believe the wheel base is the same as well.

Hey, I like it! Of course, I seem to like all the classics which get redone.

You are propably right, maybe my poor choice of words, I meant modernized recreations like Ford GT40 -> Ford GT.

Thank you all for your kind responsses ! Oh and by the way senna21, I have changed the windshield angle from the standar 250 gto, so theres no way this could now look like a Datsun ;)

I´ll attach the original picture also

I'm not a fan of the retro craze, but part of me would really love to see a modern interpretation of the 250 GTO. Your chop really shows the potential....

It looks good but I prefer it when car company's come up with more original designs, not ones that are based so mcuh on past cars.
