    I have always leaned towards Ferrari, but I have been shopping for the past 2 weeks for a Gallardo. On Saturday, I went to Silicon Valley Auto Group and pulled the trigger on an '04 Gallardo (black/black) e-gear. Trading in my '99 Ferrari 550.

    They are delivering the car up this week and picking up the 550. Can't wait!!! Pics to be post upon delivery.

    Mike, welcome to the 'dark side'...! I too was a lifelong Ferrari fan, but bought an 04 Gallardo 20 months ago. I have never before just sat in my garage and stared at a car...but this one did it for me. The side profile of the Gallardo is the best in the car world. Several of my friends have 360s and 430s...and on the twisty 'circuit' we drive each weekend....the Gallardo leaves them all behind....!! You won't be disappointed. Do learn how to properly engage the clutch though. Try not to slip it......a little bit of rpm, then just let the clutch out fairly quickly. If you do that you will get many many miles out of it... Hope you enjoy. (ps, if it's an egear, make sure you pop it into neutral when you come to a stop....don't let it idle in first gear).

    Here’s the story…. Mike & I decided to take the cars up in our back yard twisties. When we arrived at the town we where greeted by the local sheriffs. They asked if we had been driving fast up the hill. I of course told them that we never got the cars over 15 mph! They laughed and wanted to check out the cars. They ended up being great guys.

    After showing them the cars and posing with our hands on the hood for pictures, we got a police escort down the hill. Keep in mind this is a very twisty road with no ware legal to pass. Of course when the police are on the road, everyone drives very slow. The sheriff starts pulling cars over. Once the cars would pull off, all of us would speed on down the road. The best part of the escort down the hill was following the sheriff down one straight at 110 mph!

    I didn’t post the name of the town to protect the guilty! This proves there are some cool cops out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Mike, Next time you feel like putting some miles on her, come on over and I will take you on a very memorable drive. Or if you are going to be in the north bay for any reason, I would love to see and go for a ride. The "other" Mike has my number if you don't.

    Hey Mike,

    Fifteen...yeah ummmm....that's the ticket!
