I saw this chase on the tube the other day and it seems that the fleeing Chevy Avalanche pushes a Ferrari out of the way!

Look at the red car. It has two white stripes on what seems to be very horizontal rear decklid, and a convertible top that looks the type that was on the 360's & 430's.

On the photo, look a the line of cars that go across the lanes. Starts with the white compact, then a gray car (that looks a bit exotic itself with a large fastback rear window), then the Avalanche poking itself inbetween that gray car and the next car, the red one.

The Avalanche then pushes between the two cars, actually spinning the "red" car off sideways! Both the gray and the red cars has to have some body damage.

    Whadaya think? Ferrari or not?

Good spot! An R8 qualifies as an usually unexpected car to see in one of these chases. Makes me feel better because every time I saw it or re-watched it to get the photo, it bugged me to hear the newsroom guy on TV say, "and they hit another car".....because - of course - in my head I'm thinking, "That's not a car, it's a Ferrari!!!" With an R8, I'm not offended.

Any guesses what the silver car is? It could be just a dull mid-size SUV, but that rear glass (sunroof? hatchback glass?) seems very flush to the surface.
