I insure my f-cars through AXA; they were one of only a couple insurers my agent could find who were willing to insure exotics for comprehensive (I think Ping An was the other one). With a 60%NCD, the premium was tolerable but recently I've gone to 3rd party only (still through AXA). The excesses were so high under the comprehensive that I may as well self-insure for damage. 3rd party premiums are OK, HK$6k per year for my 13 year old 550.

For an agent, I use Kwiksure; PM me for contact details if you'd like. They've been quite helpful over the years for a number of exotics.

I had been struggling whether to get comprehensive or 3rd party. At the end of the day, I got comprehensive for the peace of mind but the deductible is so high that it makes little sense. Next year or next time around, I'd rather take my chance. Make sure I don't park anywhere and under scaffolding and a tree and be more careful. Then a few informed me that it was insane to not insure a 4 mil vehicle even though dedutible is like 10% of car price. In case the car is totalled for any reason, I get a new one first year...

I wonder how many owners go 3rd party only and how many go comprehensive and I think it also depends on how often you use and how you use the car.

Kwiksure canned my insurance after eight years of business with no claims. Trinity was the underwriter and the excesses were high, ridiculous to be honest. I now go through the FOC for full comprehensive, rates are cheaper however I’m the only named driver, which is a good thing.

With a 10% deductible of car price, seriously, next year (my car is brand new this year so old for new, peace of mind's sake I did comprehensive), I am getting 3rd party and same for my 458 to come. No way! I drive only once a week and I will make sure I don't park under scaffolding and trees and off the street. Avoid moral hazard!

    JZND:

I am new here, just got my very first Ferrari, is a F360. Would you please let me know your AXA agent for insurance. My driver license was suspended due to 15 pts limit 2 and half years ago. I am now all clean with 0 pts. However, it seems like normal insurance agents will not insure it for me. Perhaps your agent could help me out on this. Thanks much!

i do 3rd party only. comprehensive too expensive with deductibles too high. only thing i hate is the 3 named drivers provision. have friends visit and fun to head off on a little blast. have to apply for an exemption which only works when have notice.
